I wouldn't mind to take over the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Virtual Boy listings if it helps you out. Gives me something to do. I am also thinking this requires for me to create a new topic for it.

But yeah, I can take that load off your hands so you can focus on Game Boy Advance titles.

Sorry for double posting!

pdRydia, I have posted the GB and GBC list and I'll take care of Virtual Boy as well, so you have GBA and e-Reader left over! I hope that takes some weight off of you.

Hmm, how would I add other stuff than the NES games on E-Reader? I've got various Animal Crossing cards, Pokémon cards, Pikmin 2 cards, Rockman Zero 3 cards, Rockman Battle Network 3 cards and so on.

+ Fire Emblem [GBA].

I forgot whether I said I got this or not, but I didn't see it on my individual list.

Just go ahead and post 'em here. Since I'm not tracking the GB and GBC games anymore, I think I'll start tracking the peripheral e-Cards.

Do you mean The King of Fighters EX: Neo Blood or The King of Fighters EX2: Howling Blood?

Also, just to make sure, I'm marking you down for the only Game and Watch game that exists on the GBA, Game and Watch Gallery 4/Game and Watch Advance. I'm not tracking the Game Boy or Game Boy Color games any more, but if you mean the Game and Watch Gallery, you'll want to post that over in enig's post.

[edit] Nevermind. Kiwi, you've already posted your collection to this thread before. Come on now, is it that hard to search the first page of this thread for your username before posting your entire collection again? Frowny face. :[

I just double-checked my list on the front page. The following alterations need to be made for my list to be accurate:

+ Classic NES Series: The Legend of Zelda
+ Classic NES Series: Super Mario Bros.

- Pokémon: Emerald Version
- Pokémon: FireRed Version

Updated.

There's a discrepancy between the number of games in the master list and the number of games in the individual lists. I'll get to that later.

[edit] Fixed.

Why should it be エグゼ? That wouldn't be pronounced exe, but egse.

I have only passing knowledge of the Japanese alphabets, so I've been copy-and-pasting the title names directly from Nintendo.co.jp, ja.wikipedia.org, and amazon.co.jp (that is, when I'm unable to get the titles from the English wikipedia). So you're asking the wrong person. If I were to guess, though, I'd say エグゼ is used because kana has no proper equivalent for the English "x" sound. I would have thought "ekse" would be a closer approximation, but "egse" does a pretty good job, too.

I wonder if エグゼ comes from a shortening of the Japanese word for "executable", as EXE does, or if there's a separate word/s for "executable" and EXE has become a loan-word. Or perhaps neither is the case, and Capcom specially learned of and used the term for the game.

Not only that, but エグゼ ["eguze"] is also shown here: http://www.capcom.co.jp/rockmanexe/

エグゼ is also used to make loan words like エグゼイル [Exhale], エグゼキュター [Executor] and エグゼキュティブ [Executive]. As shown from those words I've listed, エグゼ is pronounced more as "ekse" like what Rydia said.

Sorry, but no. No example words could show how the katakana are pronounced. It just shows what words they're used to adapt, but they're still pronounced eguze. Sometimes the Japanese language just lacks sense in that regard. Like the often used kya instead of ka in words like Canberra (kyanbera). Not even any of my Japanese teachers or friends had an explanation for that.

But still you're right about the name being eguze instead of ekuze. I just checked my box.
