Kinda old news, but I figured out the problem was my mouse. It was an old, ancestral thing, and has been properly laid to rest. And by that I mean I put it back in my "junk to take apart for jewelery materials" box.

Now I have a nice shiny optical mouse!

That sounds like an amusing game, though I had to google around a bit to find any information about a Game Boy version. Was this an EU only release?

It's actually the Chinese version, released by Nintendo's partner iQue, so it definitely is an original.
Do iQue games play on western consoles?

Well...depends on just what iQue console you're refering to. Games fo the iQue Player obviously can only be played on the Chinese iQue Player as there is no other version.
Chinese GBA and DS games, being published by iQue, though work properly on any other DS (or GBA, respectively), even though the sales clerk tried to tell me differently for a quarter of an hour.

Oh, I see.

Man, those kinds of salesfolk really bother me. Whether they're right or wrong, it's incredibly unprofessional to drag out what should be a simple warning ("This game may not work on your system.") into a lengthy debate. It's not like it's all that hard to do a return, would it be needed, especially if they've got the time to waste to tell you Just How Right They Are.

I'd usually agree with you on that, but in this case a return would have been hard as I rather obviously was a tourist there. ^^
And while she sure was maddening me quite a bit after a while I didn't have the feeling she was acting all smartass but actually more like she was really trying to help me...even though she was wrong. ^^

Oh, were you visiting China when you bought it? I kinda assumed an iQue game made its way to a local shop.

Yeah, I know. Most people ask 15 bucks for just one GS game so I am really happy with this purchase. I got it from an old dude who was selling 10 GBA games for 5 bucks each. You'd think that his games were pirated, but I checked everything and they are definitely real.

Good deal indeed. My GS games were $10 CDN each ($7.50 USD), but they were CIB. Did he have any other good games?

I got mine both without manual & box, so I guess that you made a better deal. He didn't had much other good games besides the 2 decent DBZ RPG's (both with manual & box), but I ended up not buying them.

Factory sealed and dead f***in' mint. I figured since the last one got lost in the mail, I might as well just go all out and get a good copy.

Has Astroy Boy been getting any (monetary) worth? I remember how every version of it could be had (new) for about 5 bucks. Which is a good thing, actually, coz it allows more players to witness its pure greatness on their own. One of the very best GBA games for sure...and the GBA isn't short of excellent games.

No, not really. My sealed copy was about $20 shipping incl. I think a new copy of almost any game for $5 would be an insane deal, and I never see deals around here like that, but $20 is still very cheap for a game of this age and this relative obscurity (I mean that in the sense that it's not one of the titles they routinely stock at EB, etc.).

Still, I'm not planning to keep it sealed / as a collector piece. I wanna play it!

Sometimes K-mart and Walmart have crazy deals. I saw Drill Dozer for $2 new the end of one year--along with your typical licensed garbage and Texas Hold 'Em--but didn't know how awesome the game was so didn't get it. :[

When I was surfing around, I saw this for Klonoa 2. It's on sale for $2.95 here: http://www.gamedealdaily.com

I dunno their legality, but I saw it on a thread at Cheap Ass Gamer.

@pdRydia: I just checked my collection on the first page and it's missing Monster Rancher Advance for the GBA. Also, the list includes DK: King of Swing, but I don't have that game.

Out of interest, would this list include the Virtual Boy, if one of us was mad enough to buy one?

Thanks for checking your list! It should be fixed now. I guess now I know where the Monster Rancher Advance I marked down Digiki for came from. I think I know where your DK: King of Swing came from, too...

Well, no, the list is getting kinda unwieldly as it is. In fact, I wouldn't mind someone taking over the GBC and GB portion of the list.

[edit] oh yeah, and the list is updated.
