I'm considering buying the new version of this Resident Evil 4 for the Wii, because i never got round to playing the Gamecube/PS2 versions, so is it worth getting?
Also could any owners of the game tell more how well the controls work, how difficult it is, how graphically good it is etc.? Thanks! Last edited by Shortay; 21st August 2007 at 01:02 PM. |

Content wise, it's a good buy, as it has all the extra content of the PS2 version, but has much better graphics. It's generally regarded as one of the best games of the last few years, whatever the system, so certainly worth a buy.
As far as the Wii improvements go, I'm not sure how well they're implemented, as I've not played the new one yet. It's gotten comparable reviews to the original GC version though. |

The controls are very good. Know some Wii games where the controls are bulky and feel tacked on; you just can't forget that you're using a Wiimote for play? RE4 is not like this, you will soon forget you're using Nintendo's control scheme as everything will start to come naturally after about an hour or two of play.
I felt that the difficulty was somewhat hard at first, but like I said before, once the controls are learned it's not that bad. You just have to learn the "rules" of the game per se, (don't ever get close to an enemy if you can avoid it). The graphics are incredible, some of the best on the Wii so far, which is kind of disappointing in of itself since it is a port, but hey, we didn't buy a Wii for the graphics, right? I would say the graphics rival Twilight Princess. EDIT: Also I must warn you that about 50% of gameplay is basically an "escort" mission, which really put me off from buying it at first. But I'm still glad I did, since this is one of the ONLY games that the person you are escorting actually has a decent amount of intelligence and won't go running into a horde of enemies and simply stand there. |

Actually I'll probably even wait until later in the year to get it, maybe even Christmas, beacause I'm already planning to get Super Paper Mario next month and Metroid Prime 3 in October
