Default Resetting Super Mario Bros.

I did a search on the forums, and tried suggestions for resetting the 'save state.' I've found people mentioning the same predicament I'm in, but can't seem to fix it myself.

My friend beat SMB through on my Virtual Console, enabling 'hard mode' and replacing all the Koopas with beetles. Fun stuff. I can't beat SMB as it is!

I've tried Home Button => Resetting it, using the Wii's Reset Button, and using the Wii's Power Button, but I can't seem to 'unflag' hard mode.

Is there a way to fix it without having to delete the file then re-download it? The VCU Wireless connection has a student log-in page before you can get access, so I can't connect my Wii to the internet at school, making it a bit of a chore to get online.

Well Dont delete the channel just delete the saved data of it. So go in options but dont go to channels go to save data in wii then erase it, it might work if not someone say if im wrong because im just suggesting.

I...should have thought of that on my own, probably.

That being said, THANK YOU.

It's been that way since the day I downloaded it. I didn't even get to play it before my friend beat it, and I haven't gotten to play it on VC yet. I still have my NES, but still...it's the prinicpal.

Thank you very much!

You may have deleted all your save data though, unless the menu lets you choose from which games to wipe the data.

Yeah you can chose witch one you want to delete. Not the thing where it says to erase all saved data.

I could be wrong but I thought the only difference in hard mode was that all the Goombas were replaced by the black shelled things.

What happens when you beat "hard mode?" I remember getting to 8-4 but kept losing (used the continue secret, tried a few times and gave up).

Yeah, it just starts over but I also think it enables you to select what stage you want to start at from the title menu. Just push A & you'll see the stages scroll at the top of the screen. Hit start on the stage you want to play..

Though, that may be an option that's unlocked after beating it the first time.. I'm not sure.
