ok well since all of these guys took the lazy way out...i'm going to personally give my input on good games...the more people that actually answer your questions the better
Top 5 for me and why: 1. DK2 (SNES) : for 8 bucks, it's addicting, fun, 2-players, long, and challenging (but not too hard -> u can rack up lives easily) 2. Ocarina of Time (N64): If you've never beaten this game, there's no question. If you did but it was a long time ago...it's def still fun the 2nd time around. any good n64 game is worth 10 bucks in my eyes. 3. Link to the Past (SNES) : Again...long, challenging (first run through), and addicting 4. Blazing Lazers or Star Soldier (TGFX) : Fast paced, really good music, bright colors, replay value, challenging only 600 points. The best part is that when u get a game over, you simply start from the beginning of level, not the game. 5. Actrasier (SNES) : 2 styles of gameplay, good-looking, addicting, cool music, just all-around fun. There, I tried my best to bring up some of the best games for the VC, covering all different genres. Hope this helped. |

personally i think the admins who do the reviews here go way too soft on most of these games, and are more based on personal opinion rather than taking a game for what it is.
either way avoid ActRaiser, dont get sucked into all those lies... unless you like sub-par action and pointless simulations with no options then go ahead and get it, thats fine... i mean i wrote a detailed review on why you should avoid the game here: http://www.vc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=534 other than that buy the DKC series along with any and all contra games you see in your path, thank you. |
