Default Re-Release Gamecube Controller!

Good news for all who loved playing SSBM with the GC controller. Nintendo has re-released a New Gamecube Controller White for Wii with 3 meter cable (50% longer). Currently it's only available in Japan, but lets hope they decide to make it a global release.

A bit odd they didn't make it wireless tho...
It's possible to order from http://www.play-asia.com/

I would prefer a wireless GC controller that isnt as ugly as the Wavebird, but more cable length and in white, both good things. I can barely play GC games, since the cable is so short I run the risk of yanking the Wii from its perch to crash upon the floor. And with my 32 inch LCD TV, you have to sit quit far away to have the graphics not look pixellated and horrible

Ancient (but awesome) news. I'm still considering getting one of these, myself. If my Wavebird nets me enough dough on eBay this week, I'll be putting my order down at Play Asia.

I dig the wavebird, too, but I only need one of them. Wouldn't mind a less battery-eating controller with rumble as a backup, and this whitey could be a good candidate.

Talking Just go to your local Target or Gamestop

Dang it, just go to your local Target or Gamestop and pick one up. Why people keeps saying they've been discontinued, I have no idea. They will not run out of new controllers anytime soon. I personally prefer the Madcatz game controllers to the official Ninty ones anyway, plus they are cheaper, too. Madcatz makes the controllers in two sizes, large for big hands, and the Microcon for kids and people with smaller hands (I got a Microcon for my fiance and like three full-sized ones for myself).

In my opinion, the official controllers are overpriced and do not have the textured grips, which helps keep the controller from sliding out of my hands if my palms get sweaty.

Oh, and by the way, you may want to hurry and get a used extension cable (or two) before they run out of them for good.

I don't need a gamecube controller. CC is good enough for me when playing VC games, and I never play GCN Games, and I use the Wiimote and Nunchuk for Brawl.

Keepgaming.com has these bad boys for $21.99. I picked up 4 for my Wii setup. Nothing beats the matching Gamecube controller for Backwards Compatability, Super Mario 64 (VC), Super Smash 3 Brawl, and Mario Kart Wii.
