R-Type Level 6 boss

I am huge R-Type Fan and played this game on many systems (Arcade, PS1 (R-Types), Sega Master System, C64, Amiga, Gameboy.....) but never on a PC-Engine because i had not one.

And in the sixth Level after the boss (i mean the incoming boxes with the typical R-Type boss music) you come to another (green colored) boss with one half on the ground and the other above. To the right of the screen there is the thing you can damage.

Is this boss exlusive for the PC-Engine-Version? I have never seen him before. And he is not in the Arcade-Version.
Sega made an extra bonus Level for their SMS-Version. It's in the 4th Level.
And did Hudson include an extra boss fight for their PC-Engine-Version...?

Level 6 doesn't have a boss on the arcade. This must have been added in to make the Japanese PC engine version appear better value for money! (remember it came on 2 hu-cards with levels 1-4 on the first one and levels 5-8 on the 2nd one!!)

The master system version of r-type is cool. On level 4, the one with the dots there is an area in the top of the level halfway through which you can sneak off into and go to a secret level.
