2) Online play and DL content, will this work in EU with a US console ( I obv have wireless

3) Games region compatabilty (There is another thread on this also)

4) NTSC and PAL, will i have to get a new TV? Or one from america?

5) Anything else i need to know?

I think I can answer some.

1. The US and A use 110 volts power and europe got 220-230 volts so you will need some kind of adapter that reduces the voltage.

2. Don't know about this but I don't see online play being a problem since you can play against anyone in the world (unlike the Wii). There are a few games that are region locked for online play, like Army of Two. But the amount is so small so it ain't a problem.

3. Not an issue, the PS3 is region free.

4. As long as your TV can display 60 Hz you will be ok. No extra cables and such.

5. The phrase "Around the world" is repeated 144 times in Daft Punk's song "Around the world".

Thanks joxes, your a big help.

No.5 made me laugh =p

lol

Anyhow thanks again, Could u reconmend any HDTV's like this is cud get over here? ( Does not need to be big, just small, but at a good price)
Also how can i tell it displays 60HZ and i thought the picture came out in black and white anyway?

NOTE: I just looked at my tv setting on my wii and i can select 60HZ, i did and the TV is in colour and looks fine, so does that mean my TV can support american consoles like the PS3? (My wii is EU)

You'll need a transformer with a higher wattage than the console itself, I don't know what the power consuption is for a PS3 but I'd imagine it would be quite high. Best to ask someone who has one what transformer to use.

If your Wii can display 60Hz then your TV supports it, some older 60Hz TVs will only display in black and white with an NTSC signal but this isn't usually a problem if you have a relatively modern TV. The PS2's 60Hz mode uses NTSC so if that works then it'll be fine. If you have an HDTV then it should work anyway.

But if the PS3 is region free anyway wouldn't you be better off with a European one?

I have my reasons for getting a US PS3.

I have an EU PS2 and that works fine with my TV, and it is quite modern TV.
Can anyone suggest a power voltage?

Will this work?

It needs to be much higher wattage than that, the Wii is 52W (and renowned for its low power consumption), the PS3 will be several times that.

For the DL content you'll need a U.S registered credit card.

That's what I was told. Try the official PS3 forums, although I'm warning you, it's full of *******s.
