Default Pokémon - the show off

A thread born by total boredom.
Since I just finished training my Dialga, I thought it could be fun to show off our favourite monsters.

I'm not setting particular rules on this, except the obvious fact that the featured monster must have something particular that diffentiates it from the others of the same species. Full training is the simplest example, but there are other ways of customizing a pokémon, so feel free to post monsters with very high conditions, countless ribbons, or a deadly moveset set up by months of cross-breeding.

The pokémon "customization" is a very dense topic, I'm linking some resources for those people who are missing what I'm talking about, don't ask questions here, or we'll never get out of it!

GameFAQs. Pokémon games are surely among the most rich in documentation. Countless guides, and since D/P share the same mechanics of the 3rd gen, all the docs about Ruby/sapphire/Emerald and Leaf Green/Fire Red are (almost) 100% valid if applied to D/P.

Serebii.net I'll give you some more detailed link when I get home, but this is my favourite pokémon fansite and they have a number of docs and tools that are invaluable for a trainer. The most useful for us (well, as I'm seeing this thread) is the IV calculator. Click on the Diamond/Pearl link on the games section in the left column, once in, on the right column there's an infinite number of super useful pages. The D/P IVs calculator is one of the first listed.

I'm starting of course (because I talk too much...), take it as an example, you can list the characteristics that you think your pokémon is good at or that you want to show. Think a pokémon is worth showing because it gots 0 in all IVs? Probably it is, so post its infos.

A final note: I put this thread in DS discussion, but every pokémon also from gen I can be submitted. If you think that for this reason the thread should be moved, just tell me.

Default Mutando - lvl 100 Dialga

Maybe Mutando isn't such a strong Dialga, but it's the very first pokémon I full-trained so I'm kind of proud of it.
Its IVs turned out to be a kind of joke: the two stats that I chose to push have the lowest IV; but I didn't need a Pokémon game to discover that I'm so unlucky....

Cool, I'll be working on my Charizard on the fire red version. I'm new to pokemon (and I'm 30, it makes me feel better theres someone my age thats interested in it too) I just find it easy to pick up and go RPG because I'm so busy.
will post results eventually and be watching this thread

P.S. Since I'm new to this I wonder if its possible to battle our pokemons online??? (I only have Fire red version)

I was very big into Pokemon up until last November. I even fully EV trained and then breeded about ten different Pokemon, all hand selected with specific moves they couldn't learn from normal evolution. A VERY long and drawn out process that took trading and about 500+ hours over three games.

But once Daimond/Pearl and Pokemon Battle Revolution came out, it was like all my work was for nothing and everyone was just using Garcomps, Legendaries and hacks to just use the same Pokemon to show off how cool they were. And I lost the drive to finish grinding my team to lvl 100 and actually go online and battle these people. What was the point if a lvl 50 Garchomp using Exteme Speed and Headbutt that someone traded with an NPC could beat my EV trained and breeded lvl 80 Lapras or lvl 85 Blaziken Blaziken or lvl 78 Tyranitar?

Anyway, long rant over, I still am very proud of all of my Pokemon and I wouldn't mind posting them if you want to see them, but I'll have to recalculate their stats and they aren't lvl 100 yet. If people here are serious about playing Pokemon, I'd even finish leveling them and play people. You might be interested in my team. I have a Butterfree, Gengar, Tyranitar, Snorlax, Lapras and Blaziken (although the Blaziken needs to be replaced).

Murphy's Law is always the only valid rule to things....just when I moved this discussion to my Blog for the lack of answers, someone posts something interesting...
Bah!

By the way Kenryoku_Maxis, this thread was intended to be a showcase, so yes, post your monsters stast (oe whatever you feel appropriate) here.
I'm sure you have your own resources, but let me point you to the serebii.net IV calculator, if you want the easiest way to calculate IVs.

I never played online, beause I have a wired connection and don't have PBR; is it really so full of cheaters? I thought "uber" Pokémon were banned from online play and that there was some kind of control for hacked Pokémon.

If you only have a GBA cart there's no way to play online. That's a feature exclusive to Diamond/Pearl and PBR.

To avoid spamming I'm linking to the blog post about my lvl 100 Ludicolo
http://www.vc-forums.com/blog.php?b=39

PS
..and I'm also creating a web page with my trained monsters. I'll post the link later.

I'll be getting my first ever Pokémon game tomorrow morning, so I'll have some highly trained level 1 beasts to show off.

Well, I got Pokemon Battle Revolution the day it came out, really hopeful that it was going to be this improved 3D Pokemon game from the Coliseum series. Instead, it was a kind of lackluster downgraded 3D battle game where you couldn't use items in battle and strategy was basically limited to 'the strongest or fastest Pokemon wins'. And it basically turned Pokemon even MORE competitive, like a fighter. Everyone immediately either built teams focusing on speed or strength.

And I don't think Nintendo found a way to curve hacking. In the beginning, the popular team seemed to be a grouping of lvl 100 Japanese named Dialga, Pilika and Deoxyz. Then, somehow they 'patched' the game and aid they fixed this, but still all of those types of Pokemon were coming through. But the popular team following the 'patch' started to be Garchomp and some kind of Ice Pokemon. Of course, you couldn't use items in the game so if you got frozen or anything like that, you basically lost. And if you had the faster pokemon, you won. It was stupid. Plus, it was dumb by itself that you could use only 3 pokemon instead of 6, not to mention the no items rule.

Anyway, I'm gonna go calculate the stats on my Pokemon. Probably do some leveling on them too. Haven't played the game for a long time...

All the stat calculators seem to be giving me errors because my Pokemon aren't high enough in level. So I can only show two of my Pokemon so far. Gotta finish leveling my others. But here's the two I could get done.

Lapras:
Nature - Quiet
Water Absorb

Level: 82

HP: 382 - 31
Atk: 167 - 28
Def: 158 - 27
Sp. Atk: 243 - 31
Sp. Def: 174 - 16
Spd: 105 - 17

Moves:
Confuse Ray
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Surf

Butterfree:
Nature - Hardy
Compoundeyes

Level: 76

HP: 187 - 14
Atk: 96 - 31
Def: 103 - 29
Sp. Atk: 193 - 25
Sp. Def: 148 - 29
Spd: 182 - 31

Moves:
Psychic
Silver Wind
Sleep Powder
Dream Eater

I think you are forgetting about EVs.
I tried putting the values of your monsters in the IV calculator and the results aren't identical (but I think it's just because you mistyped one number somewhere). Anyway it seems that those IVs that you got are about stats with 0 EVs, and I think this is not the case: I don't think you never battled against any monster and had them levelling up just with rare candies/day-care, or that you "cleaned" all their EVs and left them that way.
If you don't know how you distributed the 510 Effort Points the calculator isn't reliable, and remember that before reaching level 100, the calculated values aren't perfect.
