Default PSPR- Playstation Portable Retro

Yes, yes, the PSP has graphic capablities almost as good as a PS2 and decides not to use it because we can't notice it on its tiny screen. Ye, it can make fully 3-D games, too. But the one place the PSP has done right is retro. From retro remakes to retro compilations, the PSP has tthem all. List one game that falls into the category of retro remake, retro compilation, or retro, and why you think it is so.

A lot of the good games on the PSP fall into this category!!!

1. Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition — awesome remake of Final Fantasy.
2. Final Fantasy II Anniversary Edition — remake of Final Fantasy II.
3. Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions — port of PS1 classic with better translation.
4. Mega Man Powered Up — enhanced remake of Mega Man.
5. Mega Man X Maverick Hunter — enhanced remake of Mega Man X.

Although I will argue that the PSP doesn't ignore its capabilities, as several of its games (the GTA series, God of War, Crisis Core) make good use of high-end graphics and processing.

It doesn't IGNORE them, it just doesn't make the graphics crisper (you can't notice, but if you put it on a TV screen, it would be more obvious).

6. Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles- enahanced remake of Rondo Of Blood, the original Rondo Of Blood, and the original Symphony Of The Night with a few extras.

The four Konami shooter collections are great, but beware that 3 of them were only released in Japan. I'm currently playing the hell out of Salamander Portable.

Why wouldn't it count as retro? It was made a long, long time ago (more than 10 years ).

That's not legal unless you somehow "homebrewed" the UMD drive to accept legit SNES/GBA/GNC carts.

Don't you mean "GBC"?

It's not illegal if you acquire the backups/roms legally, by buying a special device that's design to read the cartridge and "back it up" to your pc.
Then you can do whatever you want with it, except sell it.

Or you could use homebrew on your GBA for example and make it backup the cartridges you put in it.

Yeah, I understand that it's legal to create ROMs (provided you are making one backup per game, you are making the ROM yourself from a game you legally own, and that the device you use to make the ROM does not break copyright protections...and of course, that you delete the backup once you no longer own the game). But to my knowledge, you can't actually do anything with the backups except let them sit around, looking pretty and taking up space.

If you know what part of the DMCA/U.S. law/international copyright law says a person can play the backup ROMs they created, please do link us up with the legalese.

Emulators themselves are perfectly legal, dunno about them playing the ROMs though.

Nice non-sequitur...

Anyway, pdRydia is right: you can't play your backups. They're backups!
