Default Will there be any trade in scheme for the coming PSP Go?

I want to use my PSP 2000 to trade in for the coming PSP Go, does anyone know will there be any scheme or promotion for the trade in activities?

I don't know if there will be any Sony-sanctioned promotion, but most game stores already have trade-in policies in place, and it's usually up to the retailer anyway.

I'm not sure where you're from, so I don't know what shops you have around you, but around here I know EB / GameStop takes used PSP systems towards trade-in. I don't know how much they'd be worth, but there you have it.

Well, I don't think your psp 2000 can be traded, but I wonder if it supports downloaded games, if it cannot, then I don't think I'll go for it.

Any GameStop or EB Games should let you put a preorder down on it in store. Amazon will let you preorder as well, but you might get it a day late because they tend to ship on the release dates.

Definitely at least go into your local shop and ask about a preorder, because even if they don't let you put money down they'll know how many they have to order.

Your local game store will love you if you pre-order from them. In the US, you can try calling up Gamestop, EB Games, Game Crazy, and Best Buy stores, and maybe some others. Alternately, or if your game store isn't doing pre-orders, Amazon (Canada) / (UK) / (US) are. (These are affiliate links: buying through them will help support the costs of running these forums.)

If you buy online from Amazon, you may have to wait longer for your system to be shipped, but if you buy from a store, your system may accidentally get sold to another costumer, especially if you somehow get delayed in picking it up. Up to you which of the two bothers you least.

Good luck.

I know i wouldent want a PSP Go for 2 big reasons .
1. No prepaid cards here in Australia
2. a 512MB download would be a pain on my ADSL classic connection with only a 6GB monthly allowence before the speed gets cut right back .

There's almost no reason for a current PSP owner to upgrade, but for someone who doesn't currently own a PSP, then the Go makes sense as a purchase. It's pretty expensive, but I think the all download format is kind of interesting.

Except if I'm correct, the person who made this thread does have a PSP 2000.

Oh, right. I responded to jackjacky123, not the OP, so that's who I was thinking of.

The same downloadable content is available on all PSP's (worth pointing out in case anyone reading thinks otherwise), the only difference with the Go is that it can't do anything else. I'd say a newcomer to the PSP shouldn't consider anything other than the PSP 3000, which will still be supported thanks to the PSP Go. An existing PSP owner shouldn't get a PSP Go either, why downgrade?

Plus with DRM if you have a problem after the machine stops being supported you may lose all your purchased games with no way to back them up. That's a serious flaw with downloadable content, it makes the whole thing pretty worthless.

Therre are 2 pretty big reasons why the PSP go is a bad choice for both the PSP owners & newcomers is
1. Lack of prepaid cards in some regions
2. According to Sony an average UMD game is 512MB in size which means it be a hefty download for people who doesn't have a exspensive internet connettion including gamers .

i was hesitate to buy between psp 3000 & psp go, after i compare the actual size and weight between them, i decide to go for PSP GO.

You can visit Gadget-Asia, they provide the video to compare between psp 3000 & psp go.
