Why did I pick this game?
I'm a long time Penny Arcade fan but I still havn't played ths game so I thought I'd take the chance, and it has been on sale of various plattforms lately so I'm sure a few of you have picked it up as well but like me not played it yet. For me personally it's Penny Arcades weird humour that attracts me to the game as I'm sure the gameplay itself won't be anything fantastic.

Final Note:
For those of you that still havn't read the comic, I strongly recomend you to do so, not for story reasons since the comic doesn't have a story line anyways but for a good laugh:
Penny Arcade - Side Effects May Include

Good pick. I think I got both parts on PSN for like $3.50 a while back. I know it's also been on sale on Steam for $2.50 for the bundle. Zeboyd is working on episode 3 as we speak, so this will be a good chance for me to go through what's been released so far. I'm in.

I've had that game for a while and I just found this game to be NOT FUN at all! You cannot grind for levels and exp because there is a VERY LIMITED supply of enemies... and that was a MAJOR turn off for me... so Ill probably just not play it this month... I hated that game that much! have fun guys!

I'll pick these up tonight. I have no idea what to expect here, but that's not concerning for me. I may not start playing for a few days but I'll download soon.

Havn't really read the comic, seen a few of them linked online though. I wonder if this is as good without really knowing about the web comic.

Well there's no story that you'd miss by not reading the comic, although quite a few of the jokes are obvious throwbacks to the comic.

I just beat the game, it was like I thought, great humour but the gameplay was just passable.
Gonna start with Episode 2 later this week.

I thought it showed potential when I played it. Guess I'll have to finish it to see if it holds up.

I bought episodes 1 and 2 (downloading and installing now). Like I said, it may be a few days bit I'll play soon. Sounds like it's a short game so that's good as I've got other stuff going on right now as well.

I played the intro part of this last night and it was pretty fun. I love the graphics and presentation. Its comical nature works on me too...feels like I'm playing an Adult Swim cartoon.

Wait WHAT?! Episode 3 is actually going to be made after all? Those are AWESOME news, I remember reading a long time ago that the series had been shafted.

I played a little more of this tonight. Just grabbed the Warning: Spoiler Below.
Big Bolt
from my house and then unlocked Pelican Bay

I'm really enjoying it. I was upset that you couldn't pick gabes hair for your character though.

I've gotten access to Pelican Bay but I don't have a ticket yet. My folks are level 3. I'm really looking forward to getting the timing for blocking down. I feel like I'm still attempting it via trial-and-error, but I'm sure once I figure out when I'm supposed to do it I'll be able to block more consistently.

You stare at their hp bars until they flash, when they flash imidietly press the block button. It's easy if you met the enemy before.

Yeah, this game totally got me into Penny Arcade back when I first tried it. Read most of it, non-stop, in one week. Really great comic, I still got a who 'nother year to read, too.

The only thing that upset me about the comic was gabe doesn't look anything like his character. Mainly because it wasn't meant to be him from the start :P

Grrrrr I'm stuck at the moment. It's frustrating because I'm sure I'm missing something simple. I need access to either the ****hole or Pelican Bay.

There's a mime on the home map who is...unresponsive... I don't have a Pelican Bay ticket yet. I feel like I've talked to everyone. What am I missing?

Not much of a spoiler , just put it to be safe.
Warning: Spoiler Below.
After the first boss, remember to search the entire room otherwise you'll miss an item you'll need to progress later, I missed it and couldn't figure out what to do so I started running around in the areas randomly until I found it wasting alot of time.

That's pretty much what I've been doing, too. I'd been running around with the item Turai alluded to for awhile...never occurred to me to use it. Anyway, thanks for the help y'all. I'm in Pelican Bay now.

I think I'll replay this after I finish it...now that I know more.

I beat the game.

Pro Tips
Warning: Spoiler Below.

  • make sure you have lots of heal all potions before the final battle
  • if you wanna fully complete the game make sure you do everything before the final boss or copy the save file

I thought the game was a perfect length good ammount of boss fights.

Not being able to grind was a bummer and not knowing whats weak and resistant to everything ****ed me off.

Overall I really enjoyed the humor.

Great pick turai

Alright, I beat this one. It's pretty cool - I digged it. I'm looking forward to playing the next episode whenever I get to it. I may go through this one again as there are a couple of trophies that I missed. Grrrr... Anyway, it's a short game so it won't take long.

8 outta 10 I think, overall. I loved the art direction and the humor. I also liked that you were forced to play with what you had - couldn't grind and etc.
