Blog Entries: 14 | Does a friend have a copy? If so, borrow it & play it for a few hours. It's the best way to find out. Otherwise, if PSN download is an option, you could put it on your wishlist. When I'm iffy on a game, I ask someone to buy it for me. |

| Short answer: No! Long answer: There is a high risk that you won't like FF8 (like I do), but you might still get a couple of good & fun hours out of the game (before the story gets really bad |

| Actually it's the gameplay that worrying me, the draw system seems over complicated and reptative. |

Blog Entries: 14 | That's a legitimate complaint. I'm a fan of roguelikes and a min/maxer to boot, so I don't mind long, repetitive battles. The part about the gameplay that bothered me was the junctioning system: you'll never cast magic in battle because it's too useful to keep it junctioned to your weapons, armor, etc. A lotta people didn't like the characters/story. To avoid getting into a long, drawn-out debate over it, I'll just say: it wasn't a problem for me. I didn't like FF10, either, but FF12 is looking mighty attractive, so our gaming tastes don't align perfectly. |

| Do you like my helmet? | FF8 is pretty awesome. The draw system works pretty nicely, forcing you to decide between casting spells or saving them for your stats. It does get repetitive later on when you're drawing out lots of good spells on the map, but that's the game's equivalent of "grinding" which you'll find in most RPGs of that era. As for hearing bad things about it, you're going to hear bad things about any game, especially any FF game, especially any FF game released directly on the heels of a game that invited a whole new horde of gibbering droolers into the fan community. I definitely recommend it. |

| While I'm not really much of a fan of Vagrant Story either, I still would recommend it to you. The price/performance ratio is far better. |

| Never had a problem doing that myself. I don't really get why people get upset that their characters' stats are variable... |
