Only if you're a big FMA fan. And then, only if you find it at a reasonable price. The core gameplay is actually pretty fun, but it can get repetitive. And it's nothing that can't be found much better elsewhere (although transmuting objects is fun). The main draw is the story, which so far is pretty good, full of original cutscenes and great voice acting. It basically feels like a new episode of the anime. I got it for $13 and I'm pretty happy with it. I wouldn't pay over $20 though.

+ Lumines II (PSP).

It was only £4 and although I'm not a huge fan of puzzle games I thought I'd give it a go anyway.

I hope you enjoy it! Limines II is one of my favorite block-puzzlers!

I've only played the first Lumines but that already was a blast so I second the hope for you to enjoy it.
Although I gotta admit I'm a puzzler addict so my opinion's not worth that much in this regard.

Why did you buy a game for a system you don't even own?

You enjoy that game. I have the original and it's my second favorite puzzler of all time. Of the falling block variety, at least.

I buy games for systems I don't own all the time, especialy if they are rare, or at a great price. Just because I don't have the system now doesn't mean I wont buy it later.

But... What's the point? That's like buying a rare or cheap CD despite not having a CD player. Do you set it up on the shelf and stare at the box? lol

Also, what if you originally planned to buy a system, and wound up changing your mind later? Then you would've wasted 20 or so dollars.

But then again, I'm the kind of guy who rips open a game as soon as he recieves it. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

They're not alone. I do it, too. The point is so you can actually own a copy of the game when it becomes super rare and hard to find for less than $100 on eBay. Either that, or because you know you're not going to find a better deal on something than the one you're looking at, so you'd rather get it while it's staring you in the face rather than have to hunt around for it later.

Short answer: it's a good way to save time, effort, and money when you recognize the right time to do it.

I sort of see your point, but how do you know if a game is gonna turn out to be super-rare and expensive at the time it's out? If I knew Mega Man Anniversary Collection was gonna be as rare as it is, I would've bought it immediately (though I would've had the system it played on. ). I also would've gotten Panzer Dragoon Saga back in the day if I knew it was gonna be ultra rare and sell at $750.

Twelve used. I figured if I didn't like it, I could return it/sell it and get my money back. So far I'm loving it...but I haven't seen any of that infamous combat yet.

Woah, that's one sweet deal!

Don't worry, you'll see the (awful) combat system pretty soon which may make or break the game for you.

Woohoo! Good haul! J&D is my personal favorite 3D platformer, can't get enough of that game!

Not so keen on Jak II though. Nigh impossible to navigate in that giant rat-maze of a city, and the cops'll attack you if you look at them funny.

And Star Ocean: Till the End of Time is one of the worst games I've ever played, but hopefully you'll get more out of it that I did.

+Outrun Online Arcade (PSN)

Quote:

Never played a Katamari game, all because Damacy was never released in Europe and usually if I can't play a series from the beginning that's it. Really annoying, especially seeing it's $3.50, but it's the publishers who lost out on a customer.

On the other side of the coin we do get Outrun Online Arcade, which is on PSN exclusively in Europe (but equally unfair). The rest of the world gets it on XBLA. It's the best driving game there is and looks better than ever, although slightly disappointing that it's just another port of SP with not much new content.
