Is the PS3 Good?

I'm starting to think the PS3 is better than the Wii is that true?
I would get one if it was cheap.
Does any one know if I can get a cheap PS3?

Both have very few games at the mo, at least Wii has VC.

If you can find a working 360, that's the best at the mo.

Well, I recently bought a PS3 when the price droped (at least for the 60 gig). Truth is I planned on getting one in the future so I fell victim to Sonys arm twisting marketing tactics. By that I mean the halt on 60 gig production ($499) for the 80 gig ($599). I figured if im getting one it should be $100 off with 5 free blue ray movies to sell (none of them are worth keeping)

The games are $60 new, and for me, thats to much money for a game. Used games can be as low as $30 in some cases, thats how im shoping. I have Oblivion, great game and worth the used price IMO. Also if you want the system to look as good as it cost, youll need a pricey TV and a HD cable, sold separatly of course.

All of that i have, but its not enough to drag me away from my Wii. The PS3 is a power house system that some day developers will get a handle on. I seriosly doubt it will fail.
But with the VC on the Wii, and the internet channel, which im using to type this post (my pc broke a while ago) im kinda sad to say the PS3 has been collecting dust for about a month.

Too true. We've had 4! And had to wipe the another one seperate time to save this one. And now, it's starting to crash all the time again.

I don't know why anyone's surprised that a Microsoft product crashes with supernatural frequency!

The PS3, if it can survive this early bump, may yet win this generation's console wars. It's powerful kit, and has the potential to really impress, if developers use the hardware well.

I'll be waiting for the price to drop drastically before I buy one, as I'm uneasy about spending more than £200 on a games machine.

Nope. don't get me wrong, i have no regrets buying a PS3 even though im not playing it right now. i know there will be games out in the future i will get, namely, Resident Evil 5, and Fallout 3. I saw a 'deal' and jumped at it. so right now i have a very big blueray/dvd player.

I love my Wii, and enjoy seing people that dont play games usually, playing them (parents, ect). i dont know, i guess it makes me feel like im not wasting my life on games, like everyone wants you to believe. all it took was something simple, something they could understand.

You dont get that with the PS3, no heart i guess.

ATM system stability would be the only issue i can think of. Its what kept me from getting a 360, even though the're way more games out now id play for it. the 360 is not a bad system at all, i just need it to work properly for the ammount of money put into it. Ring of Death is to much of a pain to deal with personally. other than that its a bad ass system.

but the threads question was if the PS3 is worth it.

Cheap PS3? its to new, i actually dont know how much used consoles go for. i dont think they would be that much cheaper.
