Final Fantasy: Anthology

I've been searching around but haven't seen anything concrete on this so I'll put it to the forum... I REALLY want to play Final Fantasy VI and have been waiting for it to come to the VC but I'm starting to wonder if it will ever be released. I saw FF:Anthology at a local store for PSX and would've picked it up in a heartbeat but I'm worried about compatibility issues with my PS3 which is what I'd be running it on. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance.

As long as the game is from the same region as your PS3 there should be no problems.

In other words US game on US console or European game on European console.

Aren't the newer PS3's non-backwards compatible, though?

I have a 500gb slim (I think that's the newest model out) and it runs PS1 games fine...

All PS3s play PS1 games no matter what

I know that PS3s run all PS1 games however I heard that some games will freeze and have other glitches, some of which completely break the game. I believe Final Fantasy: Chronicles is one of these games which is what has me concerned about Anthology.

Two points:
1: A lot of people complain about the slow loading times on the PS1 FF re-releases (some find it more annoying than others, but consider that)
2: FF Anthology varies across regions so make sure you know what you're getting. The European version contains IV and V and the North American version contains V and VI.
