I'd join in, but unfortunately I play the PC version. I'm looking forward to when console/PC multiplayer becomes more intertwined.

That'll be the day!

So while we're at it, are there any players who could join in a X360 party with Ouen, or a PC party with MasterGH? I know Spore was thinking about getting it during that Steam sale, and Pluvius may have bought it, too.

Well, I know Valve is working on PS3 to PC/Mac play with Portal 2 coop.

Also, I opted out of buying it. I mean, they already said they are doing another and I decided it would probably just be best to wait for that.

I should really get into this again. I got pretty far into it with my shotgun class(forgot the name) with a friend but I got the YLOD and lost all my save data which bummed me out on it. I'll probably start over and get ready for the new DLC. Speaking of that, I should probably pick up the old DLC...

Apparently I've already been mentioned in this thread.

As much as I would love to play with you guys, during the school year my schedule for gaming is all screwed up. I normally get on for an hour or hour and half right when I get home at 3:30 P.M.CST and that's about it. I'll get on about every weekend night for around 2 hours.

Also for those on the fence, wasn't there a GOTY edition on the way or was that all rumor?

Anyone else with the PC version of Borderlands that wants to play?

I'm going to move this to the general Current Generation board to encourage people who are playing the PC and XB360 versions to get onboard and make some multiplayer connections here!

GOTY Edition inbound with ALL DLC including the upcoming Claptraps Robot Revolution!

Borderlands Is Officially Going 'Game of the Year' This October

It's a pretty good price but not a massive saving over the prices I've seen the game at lately and the DLC has been on sale on Steam and XBLA somewhat recently.

Maybe this will get a few more people on-board with our groups.

I guess now's the time to trade in my standard edition copy against another game while it's still worth something.

Gonna sell it and pick up the GOTY edition or do you plan on getting something else?

Going to sell it and pick up the non-GotY special edition I reckon.

EDIT: I am against the notion that any and all post-release "special edition" games that bundle extra/DLC content should be called Game of the Year editions.

I hate when they release any game again later with DLC that others who bought the game when it first released had to pay separately. I mean honestly GOTY, Ultimate Sith, Gold, Limited, and Special just to name a few different editions. Some are released at launch such as special and limited but I have seen many come out after the game has been launched. It's a great deal for those who don't already have the game but I do feel sort of ripped off and should have just waited 2 years to buy their game. Just my two cents.

I hate it when I buy a game the moment it comes out and then somebody else buys it a year later for cheaper.

Which is why I never buy games new anymore unless multiplayer is a huge factor. The only reason I bought Borderlands new was because Co-Op was a huge feature and I doubted it would be alive in a year. I also HIGHLY doubted it would EVER earn a "GOTY" edition. Because of price drops and the chance of special editions later on, I rarely buy games new anymore.

EDIT: By not buying new, I mean within the first month. I still buy it sealed a year or two down the line. I don't buy used games that often.

Next DLC, Claptraps robot revolution is out on 28th September!
Also a patch will be released for free to raise the level cap to 69!! I've not even made it to 61 yet.

Awesome DB! I think we should have characters we only use in our online games, and use separate characters for our offline / 1P missions. I'm reposting my Berzerker skill tree plan below so I can have it ready at hand when we start playing (...I call the Berzerker! )

I wonder if I can get more than that now that there's more DLC out.

Alright chaps, I got Borderlands installed. I was out at a couple parties last night, but I'll be ready to rock today. I have my headset all charged too.

I saw from the chat PR and DB were playing last night. Do we want to start a fresh group for a full four-player game? That way we all advance together and we don't get confused what missions we're supposed to be doing.

People who should (?) be available at some point for a fresh / static four-player Blands game:

Diebythesword
Flamin' Skull
Jogurt the Yogurt
lordbowser
PoisonRamune
radretrogamer
Turai

I'm using my SP character. Mostly because I'm not really big on playing this game 2xs in the manner listed above (I'd rather finally finish one play through, do the DLC and possibly do a NG+ run... Here's hoping, HAH). Plus, I'm really digging the gatz I got now (I got an SMG with a little TV on it, how dope is that)...

It sounds like Rad and DB are in for sure.

It's super fun if we start fresh characters and only use them for this online gang/group game. That way we can make all the offline / online-with-other-groups we want and it won't **** up the progress we make on our VC-F files. We'll try to get the same 4 people together on a semi-regular basis so we can keep moving through the game.

You can use a character you know and love, or you can try a new character.

I'll play Brickie if no one else is super keen on using him. Feel free to do some character haggling in here.

Alright, if PR's going to keep a character fresh and virginal for our VC-F team, then it looks like we have 4 players set to go:

DB: Siren
Jog: Berzerker
PR: Hunter
Rad: Soldier

I'm free tonight after 8:00 p.m. Eastern / 5:00 p.m. Pacific, but Rad and PR might not be around until later.

We'll get our characters set up in advance and then stop. Whenever all four of us are around, we can coordinate the team.

Rad and I have headsets. DB has a Rock Band mic, which I assume works?

If you have over-ear headphones you could use those, depending on your TV audio setup.

We had a pretty good run tonight. Got farther than my SP character is currently, anyway.

My berzerker Ben Ovary is currently level 11. Here's his skill build so far:
Borderlands: Skill Tree

I have a pretty decent fire-breathing repeater and about 190 shield power, but the rest is nothing to write home about.

Also, not to deter from the VC-F fresh group... If you want to take your mains to the DLC, I'm totally down for that. I just did my first Thunderdome **** and it's pretty fun. And I wouldn't mind bustin' caps in some zom-boyz in the hood, yo...

Actually, I think our mains will be great to have handy for when we want to play and don't have the full 4-man team around.
