Default Forum PS3 Owners: Stick Together!

Hey guys! As we may have already recognized, there aren't a whole lot of PS3 owners around. The purpose of this thread is to see who else is out there with a PS3, trade some PSN ID info, and get some kind of general feeling as to what multiplayer games we all have.

My eventual goal, obviously, is to be able to set up some online games. This includes basically anything with decent multiplayer, whether it's PS3 retail or PSN.

My PSN ID is KongWen.

EDIT: Here is a compiled list of all the PSN IDs posted so far:

VC-F Username - PSN ID

I've also got a headset for voice chat in-game if we want to set something like that up.

I urge all of you to go out and get Fat Princess, and then get Castle Crashers when that eventually comes out.

I'll join in.

My PSN ID is SEGAfan12.

Online games I have are: LittleBigPlanet, OutRun Online Arcade, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and Civilization Revolution. My actual ability to play these games well may vary.

No headset unfortunately.

I'll definitely look into Fat Princess, does it have a single player mode or is it all online multiplayer?

Fat Princess does have a single player mode. The "story" mode is mainly just a way to get you acquainted with how to play. Kind of like 6 tutorial levels. There's also a "gladiate" mode for each character class that has you trying to survive against several waves of attack.

Just downloaded it, won't have much chance to play this weekend though.

Sent a request to Diebythesword and I've just recently got Jogurt. Hopefully we can get more people than this.

People can also gift PSN games (since you can do that for 5 times for free)...After they gift the games for their friends with PS3s, anyways.

Now all I need to do is get a PS3....and BlazBlue. I really want BlazBlue. Everyone else here should get BlazBlue.

That is considered gamesharing and can get your PS3 console permabanned from PSN if Sony feels that you're not "Keeping it in the family"
I plan to only gameshare with my brother (he got a ps3 but its still in the box he said)
It's only ok with Sony for you to do this with immediate family members but do this at your own risk! I have heard horror stories of account hijacking!

**I don't think conversations about gamesharing is allowed here, any mods care to comment?

Really? I've never heard of this, and my friends usually give free games to each other. All you have to do is go to your friend's house and sign in, download the game, and delete your account from the list of accounts. Guess you can't do that online, though. Anyways, what the hell does "keeping it in the family" mean? Because no immediate family would buy 2 PS3s unless they were starking mad.

The real purpose of that feature is if you lose/break/sell your PS3 and need a new one.

That would suck if someone's PS3 broke. I wouldn't have the energy to plunk down another $400 for another one.

Meh, if that's the real purpose, it's kinda lame. They should've just linked downloaded games with the account owner, like XBLA.

Did you honestly think the real purpose was so you could give five free copies of every game you bought to your friends!?

I have no idea what the **** that says. No offense to you, but I don't get legal jargon.

Jogurt- Actually, I did. Instead I found out it was a BS system which is easily exploitable and could've been a million times better implemented.

I'll add you tonight.

They're releasing a version of BlazBlue in EU with extra stuff added (rumoured new characters, etc.). Be careful about importing... when they do this, they'll probably make the new stuff available as DLC for us deprived North Americans, but if you import you'll also have to deal with squeaking around PSN in a different region to get the DLC yourself.

Thanks for the translation. I don't think me mentioning game sharing is particularly bad, since many people talk about downloading games from different regions. That's not allowed either, as far as what you said.

I wouldn't take you to task for mentioning it, Refa. It does have its legal uses. It is exploitable. I'd probably game share with my best friend IRL, but I don't think I'd game share with a bunch of people online.

Probably not, really. I haven't actually done it myself, so I didn't really know about the logging in part of it until I looked it up.

So, LBP and Street Fighter IV seem like the 2 big multiplayer games to get.

Yeah, It'd be best to just do this with people who you would trust with your life or somethin. thats why Im only doing that with my brother and MAYBE one friend, I think it'd be wise to keep 2 spaces open just in case...

I am only warning you guys because a PSN ban also means you will have to re-purchase all the games as well, I'd hate to see that happen to one of you...

You will be able to play PSOne classics (like on a psp) but the PS3 downloads require you to be connected to the internet. I was unable to play Gran Turismo 5 Prologue or Burnout Paradise and several other downloaded PS3 games when My internet was down for a day

That's never happened to me, I've never been prevented from playing a game when my internet connection is down. Maybe it's just those two games. The downloads would be as good as useless if they required an internet connection because that would rely on the servers working forever if you want to play it in the future. It's bad enough that online features become inactive over time, or that there's no real way of ensuring that you'll be able to continue playing the games you've bought if your PS3 breaks down without Sony supporting the console indefinitely. Those things already make me think twice about buying PSN games but to require a connection to even play them, I wouldn't buy a game on those terms.

Plus you don't get a box, or any physical items. There's something about owning a physical copy that I find indefinetely more appealing ...And if it's on the original console it was made for, even better (not including arcade ports).

Fat Princess is very good, well worth it, I hope to join some of you on there. So far I have Jogurt and diebythesword added, that's not many considering how many people have replied to this topic. My ID's in the second post, I hope to get more of you soon.

I was playing some Fat Princess last night, and I know Radretrogamer has it too. We should schedule a little match sometime after this hectic work week.

I don't know how many of you are trophy hunters, but there are a couple online LBP trophies we could help each other get too.

what!? i was playing with you! did you even notice? haha i fire balled you when you were chopping wood! then i switched to the blue side with you. then we lost .

you can read messages any time while playing a game just by hitting the home button on the controller.

also, there are a few LBP trophies id like to get, so let me know when your playing.

Thanks for the tip!

I have to admit I wasn't paying attention to any other players because I was trying to get my wood chopping and cake feeding trophies. Maybe we should get a match going with everyone here and we can actually try to get some wins.
