Trophies are like crack for me. I actually stopped playing LBP because I could never find anyone to play the multiplayer parts with so I'm definitely game for some online LBP.

Ditto to both parts! I will not put a game down until I unlock that Platinum.

LBP was one of the hardest Platinums to obtain because a number of
trophies are based on the actions of others. Although I do not play the
game anymore, if anyone needs assistance, I'll be happy to help. Booty
Master springs to mind- this took forever because it is surprisingly difficult
to find a group of four players willing to go through all of the levels and
unlock all the multiplayer prize bubbles.

If this interests anyone, we should set up a time- it should not take
that long with a bit of planning.

The majority of the LBP trophies I have left are the online ones. Playing with four people and stuff. Also I've found all of the items in the main story, other than the 3 and 4 people ones. Other than that I just need the MGS trophies and the one where people really like your level.

This Fat Princess game sounds interesting, would it make a big difference that I don't have a headset if I were to buy it?

This is a good point. Everyone here who has LBP should get online and heart each other and each other's levels.

In my experience, you don't really need a headset, since players will either 1) do their own thing to collect trophies, or 2) just see what's going on around them and adapt that way. It's a pretty fun game. Truth be told, I haven't used my headset for it yet because I haven't played any games with more than one friend. But if we get a big match going with like 8 of us from here, I'll definitely put it on and shout orders.

There's not much need for a headset because you can easily pick up what's going on, that's partly what's so good about Fat Princess, it's so intuitive. There are whole games played with no one using a headset and there's still a good amount of team work.

I recommend everyone with the opportunity to buy Fat Princess to buy it now rather than later. It works so well because the servers are very active and you can always get a game, but that won't last forever and the single player mode isn't even worth playing. Wouldn't want to miss out on the chance to play one of the great games of all time.

Glad to hear you're liking it so much! I find a headset does make a difference, if not in effectiveness, then at least in fun. If you have a few friends who have headsets, it's funny to make a little plan, go off as a squad and try to do something, and then laugh about the results together.

I agree in general though. The game is intuitive enough that a headset isn't needed to get what's going on, or even to win.

That's on my wishlist, but it's one of the games I'm not going to get right at launch. Still, I'll let you know as soon as I get it so we can get a few games in. I don't know how starting and running a team work, but it sounds fun.

Same here, I plan to get it sometime before or during the winter holiday.
we could even just use NHL 09 if cost is a concern for other members.

they have an actual online league where 6 vs 6 player online hockey action occurs! we all take one position and play vs other teams in a league

Hello everyone, new on the forums but I thought I'd come through the PS3 section to see what was going on. Since the people I know who actually own a PS3 (sans me of course) amount to zero, I'd love to get any kind of on-line games going.

For now, the games that I own (recently purchased system) with on-line modes are Burnout Paradise, Crash Commando and Battlefield 1943.

Sadly, I do not own a headset yet (jeez, they're asking like $350 for them over here) but I plan to purchase one in the near future. Also Fat Princess, Zen Pinball, Savage Moon, Battle Tanks & Zombie Apocalypse are games on the PSN that I will probably get...

That is of course if I don't spend the next paycheck on something like Fallout 3...

PS: Since some people mentioned it, I'd like to comment on the matter. As far as the games I have are concerned, all games bought from the PSN store are available to play off-line. Even Battlefield 1943 (no, it doesn't have bots, but you can go into the game and do stuff, like the tutorials.)

Processor or RAM limitations maybe? Or maybe they just keep it low so they can set it higher in a firmware update to add another bullet point to the features list.

buy:
Little Big Planet: A fairly normal platformer except this one has a level editor

Uncharted 1 and 2: third person shooters (with a lot of platforming) that have likable characters but in my opinion suffer from B movie plots

Rachet And Clank: Tools of Destruction and Quest for Booty:Enjoyable third person platform shooters Quest for Booty focuses more on the platforming and puzzle solving and in my opinion is all the better for it.(note Quest for Booty is a budget title so is quite shorter 2-3 hours long)

Don't buy:

Genji Days of the blade: Third person combat title that suffers from an awful camera

Demo was very good, having doubts however. How valuable is the game without the editor? Not everyone is into using the creation tools. On the other hand there is already a wealth of material floating around made by other users and the game seems great for playing with friends.

Uncharted 1 (haven't played 2 yet)
Very fun action games with very limited replay value (in my opinion.) The plot could be considered sub standard but I feel that it is brilliantly implemented. One of the best action movies I've ever played...

Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction
Played the demo, was a bloody blast. Am a lil worried about a purchase since the games don't seem to last long and I don't know what kind of replay value they might hold.

Might want to start recording these thoughts elsewhere, thanks for the advice link!

Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction: there is a challenge mode after you complete the game, you can also search for the holo plans (which gets you a new weapon, try and get the golden bolts, complete the arena or get the skill points

Little Big Planet: You don't have to try any of the user generated levels but I would recommend you do apart from that the main game is okay.

Guys, Super Street Fighter IV is coming out next week, and it features a really good-looking lobby/online matchmaking system! Plus it's cheap! As many people as possible from this forum need to get this game so we can all join a lobby and let the game tell us who to fight. It even seeds tournaments out of lobby participants!
