Default Any Good Racing games on the PS3?

I already tried some of the Multi-platform games like Burnout Paradise and Pure, but are there any other good racers I should know about?

Gran Turismo 5!!!
I dont really like burnout paradise that much...
It depends on how you like your driving games. they range from cartoony (Mario Kart) to kinda in the middle (burnout) and to the full sim such as Gran Turismo. I prefer games on either end nothin in the middle...

I didn't like Burnout Paradise either, but that was because it was broken (racing games have closed tracks for a reason!). Burnout 3 was the ****, though. I have Gran Turismo 4, and I like it a lot. I might look into 5.

Yes I believe racing belongs on a closed track, not on the streets!!

Get GT5 (download it off PSN)
the game's way shorter than previous versions (no license exams???)
I'm hoping for some more add on content soon

Oh no wait, you must be talking about Gran Turismo 5: Prologue. That's just an expensive demo. I don't know when the real GT5 is coming out though.

I heard the Motorstorm series was supposed to e pretty good, but that's the only good PS3 racer I can think of off the top of my head, other than GT5 Prologue.

There's going to be Outrun Online Arcade on PSN which I can almost guarantee will be great, but apparently it's going to be exclusive to XBLA in North America.

I think Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 5: Prologue are your best bets. I don't know about the others, though, albeit I heard the MotorStorm games are good as well (ie. I agree with all above posts ).

I'd say Gran Turismo 5 but that's not likely to even come this year.

And I'm not a big fan of Burnout. I love Wipeout HD though.

So far I've been lovin' the Wipeout franchise, even the notorious Wipeout Fusion, so I guess that one might be worth a look.

Oh, right, I probably should've specified - I don't own a PS3 yet. I'm waiting until for price drop, as well as a job. I just wanted to plan ahead of time.

So, sorry Sektor, I can't add you. I already have a PSN account, but it's for my PSP.

However, the recent OXM magazine came with a GRID demo, so I'll make sure to try that out.

Okay, I tried GRID, and I don't know what to make of it. On the one hand, it's controls took A LOT of getting used to, and coupled with the damage simulation, made races inredibly frustrating - I was lucky if I even finished the race at all! On the other hand, I was enjoying it by the last race(the first race I finished), and once I got used to the controls, it played a lot like Gran Turismo 4. Plus, finishing a race with a wrecked junker in anything other than last place is incredibly satifying.

Yeah, I think I might get that someday, although I'll have to get the Xbox 360 version, since I don't think the PS3's shoulder pads will give as good throttle-control as the 360's triggers.
