Post Pikmin 2

//

I was just reading the thread on what gamecube cames to buy
and noticed Pikmin 2 was mentioned a couple of times. When
I went to look on eBay all the copies are going for over £25 (!).
Is it that good and is it worth that much?

It's not as good as Pikmin 1 but it's not bad. With Pikmin 1 at a fraction of the cost, get that first if you haven't already.

Pikmin 1 & 2 are without a doubt two excellent Gamecube titles.
They belong in my personal Cube Top 10.

Both games are basically the same realtime-garden-combat-adventure but Pikmin 2 is much bigger than 1 and without a time limit, but if you´re new to the series I suggest starting with 1 because that´s where the story begins.
If you can only get one, get Pikmin 2, it shouldn´t be passed.
It has more than 200 treasures [Pikmin 1 had 30 ship parts] to collect.
Pikmin 2 also has a
2-player versus mode,
a monster feeding park,
20 challenge levels,
a new playable character and
2 new kinds of pikmin
and various other stuff that just makes this sequel superior to the original little gem.
graphics and sounds are fantastic. gameplay is highly addicting.

Pikmin series: 5 Stars
Where´s my Pikmin 3 on Wii?

Pikmin 2 is bigger, but the lack of time limit spoils it for me, especially inside the caves when the time completely stops all together. Even with the time limit Pikmin 1 wasn't a difficult game, but it gave you the incentive to replay it to do speed-runs.

Pikmin 2 is in no way a bad game, it's just that Pikmin 1 was so perfectly balanced, and Pikmin 2 changed too much. And Pikmin 1 had a good storyline, where you were stranded away from home and you had to find parts of your spaceship, you felt almost an emotional attatchment to what you were doing. In Pikmin 2 it's like they didn't bother with the story.

Thanks for the advice... I was actually able to find both second hand
at a decent price. The employee said Pikmin 2 was a must-buy as it
rarely ever comes into stock- is it supposed to be rare?
Anyway, I have yet to play them though... Galaxy put me in the mood
for some Mario Sunshine, so I'm re-playing that from start -
What a great game! I do not know why it is so divisive.

Pikmin 2 is in the top 5 game cube games in my view it has so much extras, I love the co-op feature, sadly I never made my way around buyin this game I only rented it. One thing I liked about pikmin 2 is they got rid of the beat the game within 30 days, which some people might argue is one of the fun factors in the game, but that's just my opinion, I think pikmin 2 would be very well worth the price if u can't find it at gamestop or something

Pikmin 2's truly awesome. It lacks the arcade style '30 day time limit', but if you like to take your time and investigate, P2 is the game for you. Also, the underground sections are SWEET!

My preference for P2 is based on the lack of time limit, to be honest. I'm a completionist--I want to beat every monster and collect every item--and hate to be artificially hurried. It's definitely a personal preference thing, though.

I think P2 must be harder to find. I recently saw the first Pikmin game going for $5 at the local Gamestop in the mall, while my friend can't find a copy of P2 anywhere. (I'm kinda kicking myself for not getting the $5 P, because it'd be great for my in-laws).

I didn't want to make a Pikmen thread because no one would post in it.

The first game looks great, and I'm gonna get it sometime soon. If I like the first one I might get the second

The second one is definitely rare. I've seen it used in local game stores going for as much as a new game. Yet another reason I haven't played it.
