Arrow Phantasy Star II review (vc-reviews.com)

Phantasy Star II - MD/GEN

The people on a technically advanced planet Mota make experiments to create biomechanical creatures. But one day, a creature was created that appeared to be dangerous to the humans themselves. No signal came to the capital city from the experimental labs... You, a nameless young man living in Pale..

I think I'm just gonna buy the Sega Genesis Collection for mah PS2 instead. But still, great to see an acclaimed RPG franchise join the ranks of the VC.

Is this the same phantasy star, as the 360 one?

Phantasy Star II is hard to get into for newcomers because it's quite difficult right from the start, it would have been better to release Phantasy Star IV first because that would appeal to modern gamers more.

Good idea.

Phantasy Star 2 has never been released on Xbox 360, unless it's on Live Arcade and I don't know about it. There was a remake on PS2 in Japan only. Phantasy Star Universe is on 360 and that's the same series.

Downloaded this one a while ago. I thought it was complete and total garbage and that it should burn in a flaming pile of bat droppings, while being laughed at by a handicapped kid, resulting in Phantasy Star ll receiving the ultimate feel bads.

But I gave it another shot. It's actually pretty good. I think the reason i hated it so much was because it just wasn't what I thought it'd be like, so after forgetting that matter, it turned out to be a fun game. Although I had to quit playing because it get's really annoying to play it for an hour without saving the get killed, losing everything you gained, twice.

I love this game. I liked it more than the FF's but at the same time i stoped playing FF at FF 3 so.

It was very difficult and the point about not seeing what equipment was ganna do to your char before buying was the worst part imho. But with the internet today thats not a problem at all. One google search with Phantasy Star II walkthough will get you your own persoanl $30 worth stragity guide and then some.

@ Shoemaker:

When you get to the last town and go back home you get your last char. I forget her name but shes a thief. Use her to go in and out of the item shop in the first town over and over. She will steal things. Now if you go into the main building in that first town, forget the name but its where you can store items in, over and over she will, eventually, steal you an item that will alow you to save anywhere in the game anytime you like. =0)

I love this game. I own it on PS2 and PSP on the megadrive collection so I wont buy it on VC. But I really hope people dont get turned off by the hard difficulty. Ive played the game for ages now and most of that time was training and ive only beat the first dungeon lol. But its still really enjoyable.
