Default Blizzcon 2008 - any news?

Anyone go or know what the news from it was? I was expecting some serious diablo III anouncements but apparently there was squat. That or its too soon for google to have searched up news results. So what happened??

I am a total idiot. Blizzcon is october 10-11 and I've put this post up in september. Thats kinda funny hey...

Hehe, dates are hard but useful

I really hope for more gameplay from Diablo 3 but I expect that we will get a release date on StarCraft 2 and possibly an announcement of a new WarCraft game (not World of Warcraft, but the RTS if someone remembers that).

Might aswell use this thread as talk-up and the talk about the BlizzCon during and after it takes place.

I'm hoping for information regarding character classes, and maybe (maybe) some kind of playable demo/beta like diablo ii where you get to play the first quest or two. I'm not expecting the demo at all.... but I can hope can't I? :P

So there was a playable demo available to attendees of blizzcon. And the new character class released is... the wizard.

I'm finding it kind of disappointing so far, very much diablo ii but with different names for stuff. Either way the graphics are a step up and the monsters and dungeons are an improvement. But one person said that at the demo stat points were automatically assigned. Heres hoping that changes before the final release.

Indeed, even though everyone ended up with mostly the same stats in the end I think it's a good way to separate it a bit from MMO's.

And as for the naming and rereleasing Diablo 2, I think Blizzard is doing mostly the same with D3 as with SC2, not to revolutionize the genre but rather complete the games they once released. Since Capcom is releasing RE4 for the fourth time or something I don't see why not Blizzard can release a heavily updated D2 or SC.
