What do you think of those so far? (at least out of the ones you've played, which might only be Fallout from what I can tell).

With this sale going on, I'm very tempted to get one of them but I'd need to get a new hard-drive too since I have like 5 gigs of space left. Plus, I already have a big backlog of games...so basically, are any of these "must-haves"?

+ Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition

Now to triple the game's size with graphics overhauls.

Training a giant anthropomorphic monkey to crap in fields is one of the most surreal experiences in all of gaming.

Well, Fallout 3 is certainly a must-have. Probably the best western RPG I've ever played. The story is compeling, the world is pretty interesting to explore, and the gameplay is deep and complex and absolutely top-notch. It's the only FPS-RPG that's actually as good or better than regular FPSes (along with Bioshock).

I haven't played Oblivion, but it seems really cool. I've heard from friends that the story sucks, but the world is fun to explore and the action's pretty fun.

I played Morrowind, and it wasn't as interesting or compelling. I don't really dig Medeivel Fantasy that much, and Morrowind doesn't seem to do as much to make it stand out the way Oblivion does.

So, do you reckon somebody here should make a master list thread then?

If somebody wanted to maintain one, somebody should feel more than welcome to make one.

I would say that I have way too many PC games, but there's no such thing.

http://pics.livejournal.com/pluvius/pic/0001we04

That's not including all of the games I have on disc in various places including the shed (some examples: the Baldur's Gate series, Might & Magic 4-8, all of the Command & Conquer games up to Tiberian Sun) or all of the games I've gotten on Steam since that picture was compiled, almost totally due to the big summer sale:

+ Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come
+ King Arthur: The Role-Playing Game (+ DLCs)
+ Supreme Commander 2
+ The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Game of the Year Deluxe
+ Fallout 3: Game of the Year
+ BioShock 2
+ Avencast
+ Chrome
+ Chrome: Specforce
+ Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals
+ Full Pipe
+ Soldiers: Heroes of World War II
+ Vegas - Make It Big
+ 4X4 Hummer
+ A.I.M. Racing
+ Classic Car Racing
+ Death Track: Resurrection
+ GM Rally
+ Streets of Moscow
+ Sacraboar
+ Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror
+ Broken Sword 3: The Sleeping Dragon
+ Ziro
+ Space Rangers
+ Space Rangers 2: Reboot
+ UFO: Afterlight
+ NecroVisioN
+ NecroVisioN: Lost Company
+ Cryostasis
+ Puzzle Kingdoms
+ FlatOut 2
+ FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage
+ Culpa Innata
+ Birth of America
+ Twin Sector
+ The Scourge Project: Episode 1 and 2
+ Massive Assault
+ Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance
+ Massive Assault Network 2
+ Damnation
+ Rise of the Argonauts
+ Patricians III
+ The Great Art Race
+ Tropico 3: Absolute Power
+ Crash Time III
+ Act of War: Direct Action
+ Act of War: High Treason
+ Ceville
+ Hired Guns: Jagged Edge
+ Jack Keane
+ Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge
+ Tycoon City: New York
+ Death to Spies
+ Death to Spies: Moment of Truth
+ Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter
+ Left 4 Dead 2
+ Flotilla
+ Gothic II: Gold Edition
+ Gothic 3
+ EVE Online
+ Kane and Lynch: Dead Men
+ Shatter
+ The Guild II
+ The Guild II: Pirates of the European Seas
+ Thief: Deadly Shadows
+ The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom
+ Beat Hazard
+ Max and the Magic Marker
+ Star Wars: Empire at War Gold
+ Devil May Cry 4
+ Fortix
+ AquaNox
+ AquaNox 2: Revelation
+ MDK
+ MDK 2
+ Sacrifice
+ Kingpin
+ Project Aftermath
+ Space Force: Rogue Universe
+ Killing Floor DLCs

Yeah, a lot of shovelware in there, but my PC gaming addiction is deadly. A game would have to be absolute Big-Rigs-level **** for me not to buy it at some of the prices Steam was asking.

Did you just paste a bunch of screencaps together for that picture or is there a way to do that all at once? Also, have you actually played through Cyrostasis yet? I just did and it is amazing.

I C&Ped it together but I had to get a program that made the copying a lot more efficient.

I haven't tried about 95% of my games yet. I'll probably play Cryostasis next based on your recommendation, though. (Currently playing DarkStar One; it's in a genre I really like, but it's also really repetitive and only has a facade of depth instead of the real thing. My bias towards the genre will keep me going to the end, though.)

Be warned that this game runs like complete garbage. Crysis ain't got nothing on this kind of mal-performance. Well, I'm running an ATI card which the game doesn't like and I insisted on running it at maximum... Get past that though and the story is completely unique. No other game like it in existence.

Shame there's apparently no "competition" between Steam and consoles, or I'd snap up all that Borderlands DLC on PSN.

The reason Steam is so cheap is because it's on an open platform and as such is competing against Gamersgate, Impulse, Direct 2 Drive, Windows Live Store, Good Old Games, Green Man Games, OnLive, and every single publisher or developer who allows their games to be bought on their own website.

I played the Hell out of the first STALKER. I still have to finish the second, but the third looks so much better. Tell me how it is some time. STALKER is one of my favorite franchises.

Edit: Oh, and my Ubisoft games still work... I guess they are just going to leave it and accept their losses on this one.

+ STALKER Call of Pyrat

With that, there's no longer any games that I need to get on sale from Steam. And on my last day before college, too. Talk about great timing.
