Default Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

After playing Paper Mario on the N64 on the Virtual Console and it being my first time, I like it so much that I really want to try and get the sequel before getting Super Paper Mario on the Wii, as I never got round to getting it on my Gamecube.

I've searched through eBay UK and I'm finding it hard to get a cheap, used "Buy It Now" copy or even a slightly dearer copy (also "Buy It Now"), so that I don't have to get into a bidding war (which I hate). Any cheap-ish new versions usually are NTSC and come/don't even come with a freeloader, and even if they do, I don't know anything about freeloaders so I wouldn't want to get into the hassle of attempting to set one up, and I still can't believe that a game that's 3 years old is so hard to get a cheap copy of!

Lastly, my local GAME shop doesn't even have any Gamecube games, and there isn't any others around me that are any good for it, so I'm screwed that way.

So, any ideas of what to do, beacuse I NEED this game?!

I wanted to do the exact same as you, but didn't even bother looking for PM on Cube because I thought it'd be too Rare. So I just spent my time waiting for SPM to come out, then I bumped into it for £28 in Cex =]

I've seen it in both Cex and Gamestation recently, both £28 each pre-owned. I dunno if you have a Cex near you (Probably UK only) but definitely check frequently if you do.

It tells you here which stores they have them instock here.
Edit: You can also order online!

Nope I've never even heard of that store but I do live in the UK! Great news though that they deliver, I'll check that site out now, thanks!

EDIT: I just found a new copy of it on Amazon for £29.99, only it's NTSC BUT includes a freeloader, which I can't use , so I might get it instead, but I'm still unsure whether I should pay £2 extra for a new version...

Well, I think the Freeloader only works on Gamecube, so you'd have to play the game on there.
If I were you I'd just go for the pre-owned copy.

Yeah, I think I will just go for that. Since the game's pre-owned, is yours good quality?

It's not perfect, but it's pretty good.
The back of the box is dented in a few places, and the disc has a few minor scratches, but apart from that it's alright.
All booklets are with it in perfect condition + unused VIP stars, front of the box is pretty good too. And the disc works fine with no problems of course.

Unhappy

wow, not to be an ass, but i never knew it was so difficult to get older games in UK. After DLing Paper Mario, and buying Super Paper Mario, i thought it would be cool to get the GC one to complete the series. accomplishing that was as easy as driving to the local EB/Game Stop, and getting a used copy. there were at least 3 copies in that store and i probably spent no more than $17. I guess things are different in the states.

Heh, they have another copy in Cardiff now. And it's in much better condition than mine ¬_¬
Ah well, Paper Mario can just nick the box of my worst first hand GC game instead XD

How many years into the future did you have to go to get hold of that then?
