Default Best 1st TurboGrafx download

Hello from a newbie...

I have 600 wii points left in credit (at least I will do when I have downloaded Zelda: ALTTP tonight) so I figure it makes sense to spend them on a TurboGrafx-16 game. Having never heard of this console before or played anyone of the games, what would everyone recommend to use up my points?

R-Type looks awesome but is sadly out of the question at 800 points until my next wii points card purchase! At the moment I'm thinking Dragon's Curse, to remind me of the many days I claimed to be sick so I could stay home from school and play Wonderboy in Monsterland on my SEGA Master System.

If you have fond memories of Wonderboy III on the master system then I would say go for Dragon's curse which is excellent.

If I was forced to pick just one TG-16 game I would get Bonk's revenge I think. I am a big shoot-em-up fan so I would equally recommend Soldier Blade.

All good suggestions above but I'd add Bomberman if you like multiplayer action as well.

Bomberman is an absolute must-have as far as I'm concerned. It was one of the first 3 games I downloaded. Failing that, Dragon's Curse or Soldier Blade. Dragon's Curse took me a couple of hours to get addicted to, but now I'm hooked. Soldier Blade is simply great, a tight shooter with an interesting system.

All the games that has been mentioned in this thread is worth a download, although Bomberman is gold for multiplayer and bronze for singleplayer. Soldier Blade sure is a tight shooter, although I don't like powerups after Ikaruga.
I haven't tried Dragon's Curse but I've downloaded Wonder Boy today and if they are about the same and you like the series from the part I'll say that you should go for it.

Thanks for all your recommendations. I went for Dragon's Curse in the end and had great fun. The bit where the castle crumbles to the ground at the beginning? I couldn't believe the awesome power of the Sega Master System when I first saw that as a kid!

I know you've already picked, but Splatterhouse is awesome

That's the only TurboGrafx game I have and probably will be my only one unless something ese really good comes out for it.

Soldier Blade would be my first choice (great shooter). Another nice 2-player game is Chew Man Fu.
