I've said some unkind things about this game in the past but I've realised that I wasn't really giving it a chance. It's actually bordering on the fantastic once you get a grip of the lay of the land. As for the comparison, I've never played the MS original. I have however heard that the hospital in it costs more and more everytime you use it, to the extent that by the last few levels you are paying up to 2000 coins! That for me would ruin the balance of the game so I'm glad it wasn't a feature that transferred over to the TG16 version. Anyone else on here played/playing this game?

| Iggy Koopa | Bah, I keep forgetting to get Dragon's Curse! I really would be interested in seeing what the differences are, though. I'd prefer it if I could get the Sega versions of the entire Wonder Boy series, so I certainly hope Dragon's Trap isn't any worse.

Having said that, it isn't the hardest game in the world on TG16, in fact I'm close to finishing it after a week so some might prefer a tougher challenge.

| Me too. I'm waiting for the Wonder Boy III: Dragon's Trap game. Since we play Wonder Boy in Monster World this September I have to get all the other Wonder Boy games too. I don't really like uninspired remakes. No Dynastic Hero and Dragon's Curse for me. And I hate to get into a series somewhere in the middle. I will get Wonder Boy (MS) and Wonder Boy in Monster Land (MS) first. Well, I have no Master System games anyway so that suits me. Seems like a good start. I have one question left though. I heard one of the Wonder Boy games was made for the Master System AND Mega Drive. Which one is it? Which one is better? Which one should I get if they're both available on the VC? |

| Do you like my helmet? | SKTTR, you should probably know that the SMS game simply titled Wonder Boy, while technically part of the series, is a completely different game. You could definitely go without it. It's a pure Adventure Island platformer (heck, it IS Adventure Island). As for Dragon's Curse, I don't really see it as an uninspired remake. It's simply a repainted port, since they couldn't get the Wonder Boy rights onto the other system. I actually prefer Dragon's Curse quite a bit because of the polished graphics, better music, and cuter animal forms. I actually have a HuCard copy of this for the TG16, but no system to play it on... yet. Cadash, too (not on VC yet). |

Incidently, I love how the Hawk man hops instead of running, reminds me of the magpies I see around here I'm about to attempt the games final dungeon now so hopefully will have it beat before I download Dynastic.

| Dunno about Dragon's Curse, but the main character in The Dynastic Hero is the most retarded looking dude ever. That character needs to be strangled. Seriously. Here's a pic. of him. http://www.pcengine.co.uk/Images-Cov...astic_Hero.jpg |

After loving Wonder Boy in Monster World, I really want to pick up other games in the titles. But they can't be like Adventure Island since I dislike that game. Now I am reminded that I have played Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair a long time ago on the arcade! I remember kind of liking it, but then again, it is best to not rely on nostalgic factor when I was only 7 years old. | |

| Do you like my helmet? | Wonder Boy in Monster Land and Dragon's Curse are the other two on VC that are most like Wonder Boy in Monster World. Wonder Boy in Monster Land does carry over one annoying element of the Adventure Island games—time! When your timer decreases, you loose a little bit of health. You can pick up time refills, and the time resets when you enter a new area. Still an odd mechanic to have in a platforpg. |

| Haven't play any of the Wonder Boy games, but Dragon's Curse is a very good an underrated game. The coolest part is transforming into various creatures as you go along the game. Kinda like SotN, except you can't do it at will. It also has this great Metroidvania aspect. From what I've seen of Monster Land/World, it is quite different in that it lets you transform. Dunno about anything else though. Still, I would recommend downloading it. It's one of my potential picks for VC GotM, even though Jogurt already picked Monster World. |

| Perhaps not "at will" but once you've unlocked them you can change forms quite easily via a house in the main village hub.

| To be fair the clowns who designed the game decided to slightly hide it away behind a hidden door. When you enter the main house in the village theres a block floating in the air to the left side of the house. Smash it and pick up the question mark that falls out and a door appears that takes you to the room where you can chage forms to your hearts content. I've no idea why they decided to hide it as its a pretty vital necessity to get all the treasures.

| Beat, with 12 hours to spare before the gaming club begins! Took about 7-8 hours to beat overall, although I failed to get the Hades armour which can only be gotten at one point in the game. This actually made the game tougher as the Hades armour allows effective invincibility to be activated when combined with the heavenly shield. I wonder then if I don't deserve to register this as complete on backloggery
