Arrow Solomon's Key review

Solomon's Key - VC Arcade

Solomon's Key is a platform game with both action and strategy elements. On each level your goal is to retrieve a key which can then be used to unlock the exit. To help out, you have a magic wand which can be used to create and destroy blocks (though some blocks can't be destroyed). In order to re..

As the whole 'review' bar one paragraph is spent comparing it to the NES version and I havn't played the NES version I don't feel very informed about why it got 7/10 or why I should want/not want to play it

Well it's better than the Super Smash Bros. review, since they atleast provide information about what it's being compared to, on the same site (not that the info is likely very good, but eh) ...

Edit: Twas kind of funny that his justification of the review is that they've had the review of the original up for two years.

This review is alright, but since this is NL we are talking about I'd still rather read another review of this game someware else to make my decisions about getting this.

Their first 'review' states "We highly recommend you check this out" then gives it 7/10...err, okay.

The second one says "if, for some reason, you havn't already bought the NES version" implying that you'd be stupid not to have done. It then also awards the game a merely okay score of 7/10.

Nothing about either of these 'reviews' makes sense, which combined with their pitifully short size renders them redundant in my eyes. I'm confidently expecting them to suggest I read another sites reviews if I want anything better rather than accept constructive feedback which they are known for not taking kindly to.

This is a very good puzzle platformer and my favourite Tecmo game.
Precise controls. Many stages. Unique gameplay.
For the price of just 500 points this is of course highly recommended.

I have the NES version, which is a stunningly faithful port already.

I don't know if the Arcade version has unlimited continues like the EU VC version, but the rest is 99% the same, so I don't need to rush out to get this.

Why didn't Tecmo just release Fire 'n Ice, the sequal to Solomon's Key?
