Default Updates for all games

When downloading the Dynastic Hero today I noticed that all the TG16 games I own on the Wii shop channel had updates available for them.

Anyone know what these updates actually do as, at 100 blocks each, I won't be bothering with them unless its something particularly nifty.

I'm guessing it's some change to the TG-16 emulator if it is for every single game. I wonder though if it's only for PAL regions or for NTSC ones as well.

Isn't TG16 the one reviewers complained about the quality of emulation? That colors were all shoddy?

The only TurboGrafx16 VC game I own was Ys Book I & II, and no update was available for it.

That's a CD game though. Perhaps its just for the original TG16 games.

Anyway I'm not downloading over 500 blocks worths of "update" if I can't even spot the difference. It's a bit ridiculous to release an update for every single game if its the emulator at fault but I guess that's what were stuck with with Nintendo's unchangeable operating system.

Do those extra blocks of update stay on the system once they've been "patched in" or do they disappear? I think I've updated one game before and my number of blocks didn't change.

I'm pretty sure they disappear. I havent updated a game since before 4.0 was released, and when I did, I kept a watchful eye on blocksize. If memory serves, the blocks amount went back to normal after the download was complete.

The update basicly overwrites the orignal file .
Basically you are redownloading the whole entire game but only a revised version of the game .
The only Virtual Console game that i updated was Sin City for the SNES & i assumed it was to fix the emulation somehow .

@Betagam
Thats beacuse Nintendo trying to make sure that devolopers to get the code right the first time with the retail games .

The mysterious updates probably do something nasty like make the license expire as soon as the Wii 2 hits the market

That is not funny.

I haven't noticed any updates but maybe I haven't browsed to the right place in the shop. Nothing seems broken, though, so I don't feel compelled to look for them to "fix" anything...

The updates just appear in a little "update available" tab above games you've already downloaded in the Wii shop channel.

On the subject of things not being funny, I do wonder whether Nintendo will have the nerve not to allow us to carry our VC library across to its next machine, but I wouldn't rule it out!

Yeah, after updating the internet channel today and it saying I would lose about 200 blocks of memory, I found that I didn't really lose anything at all. You shouldn't have anything to worry about, but if you really want to be sure, just update one of them and see what happens before doing them all at once.

I noticed while beating Ninja Spirits that it has some bad (almost NES like) Flicker on later levels. I'm hoping the update will fix that (although I doubt it) I'll give it a try tomorrow.
