According to that judgement, might as well not get too excited about any of the games on the coming soon list. Anyways, doesn't seem too surprising to me that the C64 section will start to be updated again.

| Not really as its the C64 and not, for example, the Mega Drive that has had 6 months without a new release. Add to that the eary silence that's decended on the once talkative Commodore gaming and the fact that Last Ninja 3 still hasn't been fixed and it isn't looking good.

| Well, after months and months of inactivity America has finally got the Last Ninja 2 today. Could this represent a cyclicle upturn in C64 releases that might mean new releases in Europe?

| Weird, now that NA has the game, i want to play through that game once more. Last Ninja 2 is definately the best in the trilogy. I have beaten it countless times as a kid. - Cool different stages - Not as frustratingly hard as the first one (not that many jumping passages and easier puzzles) - Great tunes I wouldn't mind this being the club game of the month pick for october. This is a good update, but I wished NA would get Paradroid, Uridium, Impossible Mission and IK+ sooner. Last edited by SKTTR; 22nd September 2009 at 02:33 AM. |

| I'm interested in Last Ninja 2. Though I'm a little intimidated by 1's difficulty, I usually prefer to play stuff in order....though I don't always do that, I try Hopefully C64 games keep coming! |

| Lakitu | The news about Last Ninja 2 coming on the NA VC doesn't surprise me too much. Hopefully, the other sections on the VC will be updated soon. |

The games don't need to be played in order as althogh there is a story in the manual its not really a factor in the game. Also regarding the difficulty, there is only one silly jumping sequence in LN2 as opposed to the 3 or 4 that plague LN1 (usually at the end of a level!) so its not as unfair in that sense

As for Last Ninja 3 nobody seems to know if its been fixed or not. I'll definately get all 3 at some point but first I need to beat the first one.

| Cheep Cheep | Mayhem was never released in the US (neither was Last Ninja 3) so not sure the American VC catalog will ever have that game. Mind you, the recent 15th Anniversary edition does have a working NTSC code now (one of the many updates made to the game) so you never know... |

| Don't the games get sped up when ported to the American VC (kind of like what we get but in PAL regions but in reverse?).

| The C64 wasn't region locked. You could play games that were released in EU only on your american machine so there's no problem in getting them all released for 500 points. But one thing I'm still confused about: Why did they sped up the NA VC C64 releases? Do they believe they have better reflexes? |

| Do you like my helmet? | It's not like they went into the code and tweaked everything to run faster. My understanding is that NTSC is simply a slightly faster format, so a wholesale conversion sped them up naturally. |

![]() But that means, you get a turbo version and not the original game(play). And in this case Uridium will be unbeatable!!!! On the other hand you get the better Paradroid (there was an original faster Paradroid released in 1986 for the C64). Last edited by SKTTR; 22nd September 2009 at 11:53 PM.

| Looks like Creatures has been rated. http://vc.nintendolife.com/games/c64/creatures So more a question of when it returns rather then is it done... |

| Well, Spindizzy is the C64's Marble Madness, though the C64 had it's own Marble Madness too. I hope for Wizball, since that would be an instant download for me. How come I never played Creatures (I&II)? Maybe the disk copy protection was too advanced to crack back in the 90ies. Also we need more Graftgold games like Gribbly's Day Out and Alleykat, since they're very good (and very hard) and likely to come, since the now-owners Jester Interactive borrows their licences to Ironstone Partners and Commodore Gaming to port them to the Wii. Also, what about more sequels? There's still hope for Jumpman Junior, Boulder Dash II and Heavy Metal Paradroid. |

| Yeah, but this is a recent rating, and now with 3 new C64 games rated and waiting a release, it's surely must be soon... |

If any North American's out there have ever played the Genesis version of Shadow of the Beast they'll get an idea as to how a PAL game sped up for NTSC works, it's not pretty. Also I wonder given that PAL games are squashed to fit the PAL line ratio I wonder if NTSC users getting similar bodged conversions of PAL originals lose some of the picture.

Ok, so if this is the case, are the NA C64 games on the VC the same speed as they were when they were first released on the C64 in NA? Like, if I were to buy a North American C64 and a copy of The Last Ninja, would it be the same exact speed as the VC version?

| I would say almost 100% yes. The games won't have been speeded up specifically for the VC version. Its just a consequence of the way they were at the time. Much like the reverse issues we suffer as PAL owners, it should be fixable but its eaier for a company to just bang out a ROM.

| With the few games that do come to VC, I can imagine Nintendo prefering to dole out the more popular titles in lieu of the C64 games (well, more popular in Japan/US anyways). |
