-Lotsa Street Fighter
-HOTD, Time Crisis, Virtua Cop and other popular lightguns of the 90s (Don't be lazy developers :P)
-Point Blank while we re at it XD
-Chase HQ (The version I remember, not that TG version)
-The Donkey Kongs
-The arcade Golden Axe games (Never played the arcade versions)
-The Jurassic Park lightgun games (One can wish)
-Megaman The Power Battle 1+2
-SegaSonic the Hedgehog (If only)
-Sonic the Fighters (Ah go on)
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Yes, that great arcade game)

The Simpsons, TMNT, Guantlet, Captain America and the Avengers, X-Men, Rastan, Double Dragon, Renegade, Spyhunter, Centipede, Defender, Knights of the Round (I'd forgotten about that one until it was mentioned above - good stuff), Golden Axe (which I would still buy even though I downloaded the other one on the Genesis), and part of me wants Smash TV also but am not sure....

A lot of this is licensed and therefore less likely to come timely if at all, but, oh, the possibilities!!!!

My only problem with many arcade games is the coin munching design often translates to extreme tedium when sitting in a comfy chair playing on your TV.

A typical example: Magician Lord for Neo Geo, its later level are ludicrous, with waves of impossible to avoid enemies only there to block your progress and make you feed more coins into the machine.

It makes skill redundant and the game just becomes a tedious slog of endlessly pressing continue.

I'd rather see arcade games like Donkey Kong that reward skill and practice.

You're right, that is annoying. What's even more annoying is when that style of gameplay is lazily translated to old-school console games because, for decades, developers didn't "get" the idea that you don't need "lives" and "continues" to create challenge for gamers who aren't churning out quarters.

I want as many light gun type of games as possible. This is something that the Wii has missed out on IMO. Not enough games where I shoot at the screen then have to reload.

Yeah Magician Lord just gets dumb, pretty much just walking from point A to point B, ignoring the enemies since killing enemies gets you killed more than just walking through them, also this moving platform sequence at the beginning of the last level is the stupidest most unfair thing ever.

I dunno much about arcade games but the not-going-to-happen Soul Caliber would be great.

Yeah, that platform bit with the stupid brown floating rocks constantly knocking you off! I estimate that alone would have cost you double figures in the coin dept originally.

As for Soul Calibur, the DC version is on the XBLA but probably too big for the Wiis limit.

The arcade Soul Calibur sucked. I know, I played it and the DC version, and the DC version is incredible, but the Arcade version? Yah, not fun at all.

No, I actually played the Arcade version in an arcade. God, it was awful. Horrible graphics, slowdown, moved slowly, and the animation was bad. It just wasn't fun. Teh Soul Calibur series is one of my favorite fighting game series, too, if that gives you any indication of the Arcade version's suckiness.
