I've just got Efreet and am back at the Water temple ready to destroy the Ice block to continue on my adventure, and he's not coming out to destroy the Ice.

Eveytime I push "Y" Ali's throwing a ball of electricity which does nothing.

What gives?

Throw the electric ball at some fire?

You need to summon a spirit by throwing the summoning ball at an element related to that spirit (Efreet from fire, Dytto from water, Shade from mirrors/crystals and Bow from plants).

Nah, but it's relied on very heavily later on in the game, as you'll use that electric ball against several different objects to summon certain spirits. So don't forget it, soldier!

Yes it does tell you that :P At least in the manual, I'm sure of it.
