Default Europe got Donkey Kong Country 2 today!

Whoa! Two days earlier than the european release schedule! I'm glad the second dose of Donkey Kong Country is right around my corner! DKC2 is an amazing game that I'm looking to play once again.

Man, DKC 1 came out in Europe around December. We didn't get it in the states until February. I hope the gap for EU-US isn't that long this time around.

It must suck, but think about what we go through with Wii and DS games, with differences that are going up to 8 months- a year...

You Americans gets everything cheaper and before us

I'm still waiting for:

-Super Paper Mario
-Elite Beat Agents (July 13th)
-Trauma Center: Second Opinion (July, I believe also the 13th)
-Wario Ware Twisted! (Imported it, but it still isn't out here yet!)
-Wario: Master of Disguise (June 1st)
-Metroid Prime Pinball (July)

Yeah, that does suck for you dudes in Europe. Then again, isn't the reason for the long gaps due to how many different languages there are over there?

Well, I doubt that's the actual reason for the delays. Anyone could write some thousand lines of text within a single day.
My guess is the typical delays and issues with importing, PAL converting and then shipping.

We've all had problems with lazy postal services haven't we? Yeah well I think this is something similar.

It's mostly RPG's that take awfully loving time because of the massive dialogue. It's not just to translate it, then it would be like using babelfish, you have to change all the grammar and all that, first to english and them to 5 other languages that we got in europe. And on later days you often have to record a lot of dialogue since there's a lot of games that have audio-dialogue.

We got Paper Mario 2 about a month after America. I'd like to know why Super Paper Mario, which is less of an RPG, is taking longer to translate.

For one, there's a lot of people doing several things at once. I wouldn't think the same person translates it to all five languages, would you?
And either case, there's not a chance that translation out of all things, massive dialogue or not, can delay a game for several months.

As for audio-dialogue, I don't know, it's pretty rare that you actually see a game with a lot of spoken dialogue that actually gets translated to all languages. America's done a good English job already. But even if this is a case, it's too rare to be considered as a cause for most delays. I doubt Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour was released 11 months after America thanks to speech.

If that's why, then that's really really annoying

Why don't they just release the American ones over here, where we speak English, then translate them for the people speaking different languages afterwards?

Because that would be racism against France, Spain, Germany and Italy.

I'm shocked and I mean shocked that we got it today. That was really quick! I wasn't expecting to get it so soon! Oh well, the wait for DKC 3 now begins! I'm looking forward ot the release of DKC 3 since I've never played it.

I say the third is the best of the trilogy, and the second best game of all time (after Paper Mario).

Few people agree with me however.

I never got my hands on a copy of DKC 3 back then. So I hope it will be released soon. DKC 1 and 2 are just such fantastic games, despite what Miyamoto might think
