I thought about it, but I don't think it'll really be worth me getting it. It's not my type of game, and doesn't look ground breaking.

I'm a big fan of the classic Star Fox games. Not the RPG/Platformers ones.

Hoping for the original Star Fox on the SNES. I remember seeing that on a friend's console and being so impressed. The cartridge had a dedicated SuperFX chip to provide extra processing power or memory (not sure which) to the console.

I play my VC games more than my Wii games, but I don't get masses of free time, and I'm being strict on my Wii points.

I always thought the first Starwing was overrated, but Lylat Wars is a cracking game, one of my favourites on the VC so far.

I'm with Keats on this one, it's better than I remember it, and I'm amazed how much of the DS Star Fox Command seems to have been lifted (not quite as successfully, mind you) straight out of this. A personal favourite.

Still can't get through those warp gates in the asteroid field, though...

How about the problems at Aquas, the fact that the crosshair keeps disappearing when firing with the submarine? Is that something that everyone is experiencing or what's the deal on that one?

Default Saving

This may seem a stupid question but i'll as it anyway. Is it actually possible to save the game at all on Lylat Wars

It saves your results and scores automatically, but unfortunately, like the other N64 games, no mid-game resumes.

Default Lylat Wars

A friend of mine downloaded it. The update puts the original N64 slowdown back into the game! Come on Nintendo, get with it!

I downloaded Star Fox 64 a couple a weeks ago and I'm still playing it often. I remember playing this game only briefly when it was released for the N64. I love trying to post the top score and challenging my friends to beat my scores. This is my favorite VC game so far.

No mid saves for any N64 games.

I'm thinking about getting this game but I dunno The video on the vc-reviews makes it look fun but are you always in your ship do you ever walk around? Because I've never played star fox and I'm not a big fan of shooting and space stuff so I'm just wondering if this game is for me.

Well I download it and I'm very happy I did. At first 15 levels sounded short but I can't beat the second! A great game that I think I'll be playing for a long time

Well you've already posted again saying you've downloaded it, so this might be just a little late, but there are 3 single player levels where you get to pilot the Landmaster tank or a submarine.

SPOILER BELOW!
And you can unlock the tank and on-foot-pilots for multiplayer too. Good luck!

This is one of my favorite games at the moment. The soundtrack is pretty good, but does anyone else think one of the songs reminds you of OOT?

I downloaded it (a while ago) and don't really like it, I like other on-rails shooters, this isn't terrible I just think it's average. Still each to their own.

I played it a few years ago on my cousin's N64 and hated it.

I love sound test BGM no.13 and some others..
..the music from the waste planet .. some battle tunes .. and the ending score.

I believe Zelda:OoT and Lylat Wars had the same sound people.

After being a bit disappointed that the soundtrack was very different from Starwing, I slowly began to appreciate the new tunes and love them now.
They are so majestatic.

But the original Starwing music still has a place in my playlist.

It means you got a certain amount of points (it varies between levels) and finished with all your team-mates intact (they have to be there at the start and end of the level).

Get a gold medal on every level to unlock some goodies.
