The SNES Contra game is called Contra III: The Alien Wars. Super Contra (better known as Super C) was released for the NES.

Jaws
DuckTales
River City Ransom
Double Dragon
RC ProAm
Spy vs Spy
Spy Hunter
Goonies II
G.I. Joe
Ninja Gaiden
Mega Man (any of them)
Metal Gear

Though I'm pretty confident most of these will never see the light of day on the VC since they're licensed. What are the current prerequisites to be eligible for the VC?

Konami are supporting the VC, and we've already got two Mutant Turtles titles confirmed or released from them, so licensing is not necessarily an obstacle.

Geez, there are so many I would like to see, but the tops would be Super Mario 2, Marble Madness, Tecmo Super Bowl, and quite possibly the best baseball game ever made - Baseball Simulator 1.000. 6 different stadiums, create your own teams (with a TON of detail for the time), current stats during "season" mode, "ultra" teams with crazy super powers, that game had EVERYTHING! I just hope that they can somehow fix the game's only flaw - the painfully slow simulations between two computer teams when playing a season.

I'm all for it believe, but I believe we won't be seeing the light gun games until Nintendo releases their zapper. Come on, Nintendo release it already!

And that wasn't Earthbound, which is Mother 2 in Japan, but rather Mother 3, the sequel, which came out on the GBA. To make things more complicated, the original Mother 3 was on the 64DD, and though supposedly certified gold (i.e. ready to ship), was never relased. People have been on the lookout for development disks ever since. There is a set of 3 DD dev disks labelled M3 in someone's possession, but since the 64DD dev hardware hasn't ever been sold on the black market (unlike every other dev system ever), no one can verify... Ah well...

Mendez is right, yeah.

An Earthbound-Remake for GBA was in the works but it turned out to be Mother 1+2 that is already released on GBA (as well as Mother 3) but only in Japan. Nintendo sucks me balls in this case. They should at least release Mother 1+2+3 now for Nintendo DS in Europe!

And as I said "Earthbound for Europe", I (also) meant Earthbound Zero, which is an NES game. It's not as holy as Mother 2 but I also wish for that game to come out some day.

Hmmm lets see, just off the top of my head:

Mega Man 1,2,3
Little Nemo
Contra and Super C
Duck Tales
Bionic Commando
Paperboy(although I'd opt for the SNES version if it was available)

yeah i played both but only beaten the N64 one.

Shadowgate 64 : Trials of the Four Towers (N64) was a dark foggy medieval first person adventure.

it had many difficult riddles. they were as hard as in the NES game.
i liked shadowgate 64 more. it had that right atmosphere even if the graphics were blocky and all. it had it's own flair. the NES game was more of a dungeon crawler and looks very outdatet now but it has all kinds of classic traps and some where really delicious. both games are for really good explorers. there's also much to read as if you explore every corner of the castle, garden, the ghost town outside the castle. a few dark and bizarre creatures made the game haunting. the music also was pretty good in both titles.

both games are made by kemco.

the nes one had two spin-offs called "Deja-Vu" and "Uninvited".

i want:

earthbound zero (gem)
archon (multiplayer gem)
pirates! (gem with bad sound effects)
battle of olympus (sidescroll rpg classic - good music - very hard)
castlevania 2 (see battle of olympus)
maniac mansion (adventure classic but a little stripped down in this version, nonetheless a great game!)
mega man 2 (as great as the first mega man, just more)
super mario bros. 3 (gem)
wrecking crew (ladder&platform classic, only played once when i was a kid)
volleyball (just curious, same case as urban champion and ice hockey)
any zapper game (i.e. duck hunt, hogan's alley, wild gunman, tin star)

to get them out of the way (coz ive beaten them on animal crossing or other gamecube games i already own and can play on wii):

donkey kong 3 (ac)
golf (ac)
clu clu land (ac)
metroid (metroid prime)

i dont want:

dr. mario - i want Dr. Mario 64 pleeease!!!
xevious - too bad, it's already out AND it was the one and only game that week!!

Without a doubt my most wanted VC game is Blaster Master for the NES. Blaster Master 2 for the sega genesis would be sweet as well.

My secondary choices would be contra and jackal and possibly bionic commando.
