it doesnt matter if people on a forum/fansite all agree on something, unless there is something official backing it, its still just a best guess.

we could probably all agree on that with you, right? i think maybe you just arent always clear to everyone.

but to be fair, common sense would dictate that they wont be translating this one for us. they havent translated any jrpgs like this YET. and the weak likelyhood of any real amount of monetary compensation if they DID translate it, means they probably will never 'waste their time' since they have shown to care more about business than fans. like most billion$$$ corporations.

one can always hope though. and true fans can always be proactive and fight for it! if you give up before you start, you have no chance of success.
o_O thats exactly what i meant, i try to do my best with my english

i mean, noone knows what they actually want with this game, as they havent told us or anyone else yet

my guess is that they may think about it to make some money
and translaters, well, if they cost alot, they can always make it 1000 points worth, so they can make the money they need to translate + more

i mean, regular rpg fans and seiken densetsu (mana) fans will buy this when they have money/points

as for now, i just hope to see it on VC soon enough

i wouldnt give up hope, but neither do i expect them to give it to us

if they wont put it on NA and EU VC, alot of people may download and play the rom(s), which are translated

imo its not much fun to use emulators, consoles make it way better, especially cuz i never played it on SNES ( as expected from someone who dont understand japanese)

Bleh, I give up. I seriously hate this legal nonsense. Importing Mother 3 is to support the developers, not to appease lawyers. I won't consider myself a pirate just because I refuse to buy a bunch of extra equipment to back up my own copy of a cartridge. I see some valid points made by Kurachi and others, but yeah, I'm going to keep doing what I think is right.

Hey man, I personally totally agree with you about the ridiculousness of most legal nonsense. And it's admirable that you go the extra step and import the game out of some moral sense, too, since most other pirates wouldn't really seem to bother.

If anything, I wish there was some way for publishers to track the number of imports, so they could see just how much demand for certain games there is outside of Japan. Mother 3 has to be one of the most-imported games in recent memory.

Good thing we have Play Asia, otherwise importing would be a pain in the ass. I think quite a few (not a lot) of people import games, just not RPGs.

I actually have yet to import any games yet from Play-Asia or otherwise. I actually had Mother 3 all ready to import, but then there was an issue with my bank account. I decided after that I would at least try to complete Earthbound before I did. I mentioned in another post that I was interested in importing Inazuma Eleven, and I've thought of importing the Ouendan games as well. It goes without saying that I would want to import Final Fantasy International editions, as well. I feel like a total nerd when I say I actually want to learn Japanese so I can understand imported games. haha

Well...more people have actually played pokemon.

I really do hope Seiken Densetsu 3 sees a release in the states someday. It's a really great game, and it's a shame that it's only been released in Japan so far.

That's why I'm trying to spread the word to these interested folks who've played SD3.

Ooh! Me! I think the combat, AI, and story are all drastic improvements over Secret of Mana's.

I think the weapon system and character development are drastic unprovements. The graphics are nice though. About as nice as Secret of Mana, so it's a tie there.

I prefer Secret of Mana over Seiken Densetsu 3. The only thing SD3 had were pretty graphics and some nice songs; but I wasn't too crazy about the storyline.

i dont, SD3 could beat SoM if it were on the VC
i played SD3 on emu (i know, its illegal), but as i said before: emu's never give the good feelings of playing a game than the original console

thats why i only played the 1st tiny bit of FFIV, as i rather wanna see it on VC and play it for real then

so, if SD3 gets on the VC, i'll buy and play it, and then i'll tell you whether i like it more than SoM or not

cuz for me, NOTHING beats the controllers for console games

Yeah, the generally held opinion elsewhere is that SoM is better than SD3, so I was just wondering. Maybe I'll try to get into SoM, because Final Fantasy Adventure was really great.

Kurachi- Come on, your FFIV comment is a total joke. You can play so many versions of it on home consoles, and at least in the US, it is on VC.

i stated before: i dont play handhelds (so no remakes)
and i'd like to try FFIV as my 2nd (was 1st, but bought FF few days ago) final fantasy

i rather have it on the wii, than trying to buy it on snes, as 1. i rather just use my wii, than 2 consoles, my room isnt very big and dont have the money yet to chaneg the stuff that i wanna change
2. it looks alot of fun, and i never had it before, so why not try it on the wii once its in EU

i dont care if people believe i havent played any further on emu, or not, i just know its true, i just dont like emu's and so will buy it on the wii

anyway, i hope nintendo and SE will at least think about it, and of course also hope they will do it

It is on the SNES. It's also on the PS1 (which can be played on any Playstation console. It's also on the GBA (which can be played on the GBA Player). The only versions that are handheld only are the Wonderswan Color and the Nintendo DS. Your excuse doesn't make any sense.

I agree that omissions of things like the freely swappable wepz and "growing" spells was an un-improvement... but by comparison to SD3, SoM1 is kind of short. I was always wishing for SoM1 to have been longer, but SD3 was as close as it got and I took it and after I got past the differences I enjoyed it. Maybe those guys who were hired to make Evermore should've just made another SoM instead. SoE may as well have been someone's fanfic hack, everything's there but recognizable characters.

excuse? my reason is that i want it on my wii
it cant be a bad reason, as its my own reason

also: on snes "1. i rather just use my wii, than 2 consoles, my room isnt very big and dont have the money yet to chaneg(typos) the stuff that i wanna change"
on GBA also has nr1, as gb player isnt on the wii
PS is also another console, so nr1 counts again

you made 3 mistakes, 3 reasons you gave me which should say that my reasons are dumb, yet they all 3 fall under my nr1 reason

i know, i make it some bigger: (just the most important part)

I know what you're saying, but I stand by my point! Bear in mind that when I talk about "graphics" in broad, general terms, I'm referring to both the technical graphical specs and also the art style. There's no question that SD3 blows SoM out of the water in terms of the game's actual graphical capabilities, but I like SoM's art style / overall aesthetic a lot more, so it balances out.

BTW, you were precisely the guy I was hoping to goad into giving Seiken Densetsu 3 your vote in the "BEST GAME EVER!!!" Project with that link I posted.

If those votes actually mattered and would be sent back to Nintendo and Squeenix, sure I'd go do it. And I never got in on the whole Pokemon trend, nor Digimon, Monster Rancher, Magi-Nation, Yu-Gi-Oh or any of the other trading card based games. Now, if they had made Pokemon games where you, instead of doing some menu battle crap, just took temporary control over your Pikachu or whatever and walked around an overhead playing field taking swipes at the other guy (like in Star Ocean), that would've been more fun to me. All Pokemon was to me is Final Fantasy with cute yet bizarre animal creatures geared toward 8 year olds; "This sprite makes threatening gesture toward that sprite, other sprite makes hurt face, hp go down." It's about as entertaining to me as watching this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHBiWe5dTew
