Default Mega Man X Series

I was wondering if there was ever any word regarding whether or not Mega Man X would be coming to the Virtual Console? You'd think Capcom would want to capitalize on the recent interest in Mega Man with the release of Mega Man 10. I know Mega Man 4 is planned to be released soon, but I'm really interested in the X games as I've never played them before. Think it will happen? Is there a reason it can't happen?

It'll happen eventually. But they're not going to dump all their games on the VC at the same time. In terms of Mega Man interest, Capcom only has 4-7 and then the first 3 X games to last them for the next 10 years or so of VC.

Mega Man Soccer
Mega Man 64

im sure Capcom would make more money off the original series and X series than those 2 games.

Mega Man X Collection for Game Cube is the best way to play this series on the Nintendo Wii.

And the import Mega Man games. This is Capcom, after all.

see, I hate the gamecube controller... a lot, lol. but i have a SNES controller to GCN adapter, think it would be configured to have all the actions mapped to the correct buttons? can you configure the controls yourself?

You could splurge and play $50-$80 for that cool Hori GBA Player controller. Here's a pic from ebay.

The only thing that is stopping the Mega Man X series from getting released is getting the main Mega Man games released first. I wish Capcom would hurry up with MM 4-6.

Why is that stopping Capcom from releasing X?

Because it makes more sense to get the main Mega Man series out of the way first, before moving onto X.

Indeed, plus they probably want to milk the classic series for as long as possible before perhaps creating a new 16bit X game...

Forget your SNES controller. Buy a Dualshock 2, then:

Because Dualshock is better than SNES Controler.

The American SNES controller is the king of blandness in video game controllers. Maybe if there was an adaptor that worked with the European SNES controllers, or the SFC controllers...

I'm not sure what the American SNES controllers look like that makes them so bland, but the Canadian SNES controllers have a nice understated blue/purple look that blows the garish rainbow-coloured European atrocities out of the water.

I'm curious whether you think the blandness of the US SNES controllers makes the DualShocks more comfortable to use.

It's bland because 2 of the buttons are the same color as the controller and the other 2 are purple (I'm guessing those 2 grey colored buttons are blue on the Canadian version). So the entire controller is just grey and 2 black start/select buttons. And personally speaking, I don't really see why they needed 2 same colored buttons. Ruins the whole purpose of coloring them in the first place. It doesn't even have any stylistic markings like the NES controller. It's functional, but not terribly interesting.

I'm not talking about the DualShocks....It's not as if that was the topic of the thread either.

The same-colouredness is the controller's stylism. So it doesn't exactly defeat the purpose of colouring them, rather it fulfills a certain aesthetic.

You're right, it's not in the ****ing thread title, so what the ****!? I was just confused by the fact that 100% of the reason SNES controllers were even mentioned was in contrast with the PS2 controller, and your post was made (apparently for no reason at all?!>?!?) directly after someone made a qualitative judgment between them, making it appear (through use of contextual logic) that you were evaluating the judgment based on the colours of the SNES controller!

But apparently that's not what you meant.

You just wanted to make a post about some random opinion of one of the controllers mentioned...

That would kind of me like me replying to your post with a message about how much I like the buttons on my microwave.

Mega Man plays like **** with a GCN controller, but the PS2 version of the collection has weird button mapping! The best way to play MM is on the VC.

Meh, it's no toaster. You don't even need buttons for that.
