He'll be back in a week... if he's learned his lesson.

We need some kind of ban notification system on this board, for public information or something.

Anyway, I have The Legend of Zelda on NES, VC, GBA, and the GCN collection. Same with Zelda II. I have Zelda III on SNES, VC, and GBA. I have Ocarina and Majora on N64, VC, and the GCN collection, plus Ocarina on the GCN Master Quest disc. Woot!

I'm surprised you have so many copies of Ocarina since you seem to like it.

I have the superior 60hz version on the Collector's disk so not interested in buying the NES version. Plus the game holds no nostalgia for me and I don't actually think its aged very well at all.

I like it just fine. I just don't think it's better than A Link to the Past, I don't think it's the best game of all time, and I don't think it's aged particularly well. All of these judgments tend to get translated, in the video game world, to utter hatred!

Curious for your thoughts on A Link to the Past. Does it have nostalgia for you? Has it aged well?

If it has Link in it, I have it (again, I am excluding the cd-i games). I had all the GB, GBC, and GBA games at one time, but sold them like an idiot and am trying to locate them so I can buy them again....even though I have no system to play them on

I used to own the GBA version of LoZ, which I sold a while back, as I currently own it on the Collectors Edition for GameCube. I might consider downloading the VC version, as I don't really like using a GC pad for this, although it is my 2nd least favourite in the Zelda series though so it's low priority.

To explain, I never owned a NES (was a C64 kid in the 80's) so the only NES game that holds nostalgia for me is Super Mario Bros as I used to endlessly play it in shops on one of those things with ten games loaded into them.

Link to the Past isn't one I'm especially nostalgic about even though I've owned it twice, but its one I'd like to play again some day. I sold my SNES copy a while ago (which I now regret as I now have a modded SNES that forces 60hz). I might pick it up for VC one day but I've beaten it a couple of times already and I've learned with Super Mario World and Super Probotector that redownloading games when you've played something to death is often a waste of points that could be better spent on games I havn't tried.

Havn't played it recently enough to comment on how its aged but I would think its aged well as I've yet to play a SNES game on VC that I think has aged badly. 16 Bit seems to age alot better than many 8 or 64 bit Nintendo games, at least in my view.

I don't own the original Zelda at all except for within Animal Crossing. I may buy it someday on the VC for convenience but it's not a very high priority title for me.

Don't I have to have a Game Boy Advance SP to play Link's Awakening and the Oracle games? Or does the DS backwards compat with those?

To play Game Boy (Link's Awakening) and Game Boy Color (Oracle Games) games you need a Game Boy Color, Game Boy Player Game Boy Advance, or Game Boy Advance SP. Anything past that, such as the Game Boy Micro or Nintendo DS line, will not play any gray, black, or clear case games.

I got the Zelda collector disc when I bought Wind Waker. It has Zelda 1, 2, Oot, and Majora's Mask on it. So, although I won't be getting it for VC, I can still play it on my Wii since I have it on a GameCube disc.

Yeah, I own all the retro Zelda games on the VC. I never played most of the Zelda games until I downloaded them off the Wii Shop Channel.
