True, but theres no stopping them from replacing it with something else. Wave Race 64 taught us they can change/remove stuff in their N64 games.

It shouldn't really matter, as long as they pay Rare. They're going to have to pay Rare anyway.

IANAL but my guess is that since Jetpac was part of the original DK64 ROM, it is for legal purposes considered part of that game when presented in that context, and doesn't have to be licensed separately.

Probably not licensed separately, but as the developer of the game, Rare has to get paid their share. The difference between this and other Rare developed games is executive, not financial. Another Rare game, like Banjo Kablanjo or whatever the hell it's call, was developed by and also belongs to Rare, so they get to decide when and where it's released, in addition to getting their moolah. But DK belongs to Nintendo, so it's Nintendo's decision (again in addition to Rare getting their moolah).

I don't know where the Jetpac comes into this, and I don't know whether it will complicate the process for them...

I really hope that the next N64 game is DK64 or Majora's Mask, regardless of how likely it is that we'll get either just yet.

I'va got DK64 on the original cart, but I haven't played it for years and never actually completed it (never got farther than unlocking Chunky Kong) and I'd love to play it on the VC again.

I've never played Majora's Mask, and OoT is one of my favourite games, so it should be great.

Cool

I hope it will be Majora's Mask, or Goldeneye. I've got the Gamecube of Ocarina of Time, and mario 64 and Link to the past on the DS and GBA respectively, so its pointless me downloading half of the best games on the VC

I m just hoping Ninty give us a game that used the Expansion Pak, so any fear s that they can't put Expansion Pak games onto the VC can be put to rest.

I mean, there is not issues right, since it was just extra RAM? Not absolutly huge block sizes for those games right?

The block size will increase because they'll have to add Expansion Pak functionality to their emulation software. If anything, this extra work is why we're still waiting.

Yes I know Goldeneye wont happen. Doesnt stop me living in hope and denial though.

I wonder why they havent added Gameboy or more specifically Gameboy Advance to the VC. The Gamecube was great when you added the Gameboy player on, so its not as if its a strange request. Some games on the GBA rocked.

Also does anyone else think that the same cost for a C64 game as a NES one is taking the mick somewhat?

I'd say 200 points max for IKC+. Its not worth any more than that.

I just want them to put some good N64 games on there that I dont already have on the Gamecube or DS. Makes it annoying that by being loyal to the Nintendo brand over the years, you actually get less out of the VC.

Probably because you can still play GBA games on a current-gen system. They'd rather we pay $20 for them than $6 or however much they'd cost.

I can see that being true... but then again, I bailed after the SNES (brand loyalty means nothing to me—I go where the good games are), and the VC still doesn't present many N64 titles I have any interest in playing. Maybe Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask (when it comes).

True, its just annoying that with the Gameboy Player adapter a Gamecube can play pretty much any Gameboy game on a TV and a Wii cant. I used that fact to get a lot of the GBA SNES ports as I never had a SNES my brother did.

Speaking of SNES, where the hell is Secret of Mana, thats a game I'd download at a rate of knots.

In the eyes of Ninty, theres more money to be made in everyone rebuying GB games for VC then pluging in the GB Player to play your old GB games you ve had for years. XD

Thats my whole point. So why arent they up for download yet?

You'd have thought Nintendo wouldve put their own stuff up first to further pack out their wallets.

Would like to see the second to come. Never tried it, but not many people liked the N64 titles...that will mean...(thinks)...

There might be a good chance of that happening. XD

So, Japan's latest release list had no answers. Could we be getting another 3rd Party game or perhaps a 1st Party game before Japan, like Kirby 64?

My latest predictions

Marty Party
Aerofighters Assult (If we get a 3rd party game, don't think it would be Beetle Adventure Racing as it would be a bit soon for another racer)
International Track & Field 2000 (And what better why to promote the Olympics? XD

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

Within the past couple of weeks we've heard from EarthBound, Phantasy Star II, and Super Mario RPG, so I think Nintendo realized people want RPGish games (maybe helped along by that NP poll). MM is on the way!

I seriously doubt it with Bomberman WiiWare coming, and its retail game.

And my guess...I really don't know; once Pokemon Puzzle League came out, I realized these releases are completely random.

Well, Bomberman 64 was mostly a One Player game with a 3D take on the multiplayer.

Maybe the one player only Bomberman Hero?

Ugh, I thought Hero sucked. >.<

And as I said before, there is the full, retail version of Bomberman Wii anyway not just the WiiWare version.

That doesn't seem to effect what goes on the VC. In fact, it was encouraged when Metroid Prime 3 came out to put its previous games on the VC. Whatever Bomberman game that's out for Wii has no bearing on Bomberman 64's VC eligibility. Besides, chances are the 64 version will be better. I loved that multiplayer!

And the wiiware version is waaaaaay off still.

Some of what's left:

LOZ Majora's Mask- hopefully soon. Will come eventually

Mischief Makers- would be cool.

DK 64- Obviously coming, seeing how the DKC titles are on VC

Smash Bros.- possibly, would be pretty cool and nostalgic

Rareware titles (Banjo, Conker etc.)- Maybe, maybe not

Castlevania 64- Ugh, I hate the 64 game. Hopefully we get III, Bloodlines and Dracula X first.

Pokemon Stadium 1/2- Nearly impossible. First off, Battle Revolution is the exact same. Second, these games are nothing without GB support.

Honestly, I want more SNES games. The only 64 game that would really be good on VC is Majora's Mask, and I have collectors edition (though it would be nice without those minor emulation issues)

Default Majora's Mask

I'm hoping for Majora's Mask to come out soon. I got the GCN Collector's Edition CD but it isn't that great.

If there are any others that I can remember, I'll be sure to post them here. I have MM stuck on my brain, which is blocking me from remembering any other 64 games.

I think Stadium would be possible if you could upload Pokemon from Ranch. I know only the first 151/251 Pokemon can be used, but they can always be a limit of what can and cannot be used in Stadium on the Operations manual right?

And to be frank, PBR has been out nearly 2 years in Japan.

But the Pokemon in Ranch are going by D/P mechanics, so I seriously doubt it.

Doubt it then, iwata stopped goldeneyes release on wii and 360 so i doubt they would do the nintendo any favours.

Beetle Adventure Racing - Not that i want it but its been on the list so long

That's true, but even if Rare did develop it, Nintendo still holds the rights to the Donkey Kong series.

Yet I think the only reason why it might not show up at all - and the same reason that Majora's Mask is presumably also taking a while - is due to the game's dependance on the Expansion Pak if anything; it all depends on what kind of emulation the VC is using concerning N64 games.

Proper Pak emulation will just take some enterprising programming. It shouldn't theoretically be all that difficult to allocate some of the Wii's resources and trick the game into thinking it's a Pak. But it would take some programming, and Nintendo would have to pay for it. They're probably working on it on and off already.

Might be space issues. DK64 was quite a big game. o.o
