Ocarina of Time or Majoras Mask?

I want to know which is more popular Ocarina of Time or Majoras Mask cuz i cant decide which to get first

Majora's Mask is in my opinion better, but the 3-day system is very love/hate.
The story is better if you play Ocarina first anyway.

I personally prefer Majora's Mask more, I love the mood and atmosphere. But as what King Elemento said, the 3 Day system can be love or hate depending on the gamer.

I was able to enjoy this game fine with having minimal Legend of Zelda knowledge. But I do agree that you get a full appreciation of this game once you have played Ocarina of Time.

Ocarina of Time is generally considered more "popular", but I prefer Majora's Mask. I just think it's a more refined game overall.

If you're going to eventually play them both, it might be worth your while to start with Ocarina, but if you only want a one-shot, don't worry, the Zelda game storylines don't rely on each other too much, so you'll be fine.

i can't believe i'm saying this but majora because the mask system is just fantastic and trying to get all the mask is a real challenge but if you wanna follow a story get ocarina first because majora is the sequel and one downfall of majora to ocarina is that majora 4 temples ocarina like 9 plus ganons castle and 2 mini dungeons but again the mask system in majora is just amazing so wither way your getting an amazing 5 star game

if you want my honest opinion i think they are equal because one has awesome side quests and an ok main quest and one has an awesome main quest and ok side quests

OoT had a real story, MM just has story about masks
then MM's only major thing are the masks, OoT had more, and if you complete the storyline, you dont always have everything, like maxed hearts, golden skulltulas and some other items
as i see it, its a mere try to make mask-OoT clone
i find MM's lands bigger than the game actually is, weird, but i try my best to explain, lol
i dont hate it, its nice, but not enough compared to OoT, imo
and yes, OoT is a good start to get used to fighting style for MM

so my opinion says: OoT is way better

OoT first. There is no way you would ever make a mistake picking it first. They are different games but both fantastic. Start with OoT first though IMO, but GET THEM BOTH eventually.

You'll also appreciate some of the in-jokes and character repetition in MM if you've first had the experience of playing OOT, so I'd say get OOT first.

Go for Ocarina first, that's the right order. They're both great games for different reasons and you need to play them both.

well there are some cutscenes that are from oot and yeah the skull kid is in oot so yeah and the characters in oot you see in mm so they do connect a bit

Maybe it's just because it's how I did it but I would think playing MM after OOT would be the best experience. MM has the sequel feeling: it expects you to know some stuff, it references past stuff, and it reuses things in a new way. Going MM then OOT would probably change the experience a bit.

I liked playing OOT then MM and right away noticing the difference in Links jumps.

Ah well, i don't really care to play prequals first, i always play games that are best in the series first.

Yeah both games a great for different reasons.

Ocarina of Time has an epic story while Majora's Mask has some cool side quests.

BTW I also recommend that people should play it in order, as there are several references to OoT that you won't understand unless you've played the game. Besides, it's not like it's a bad game.

I just wanted to say I got a Wii about 4 day ago and I downloaded The legend of Zelda - MM and I think it's a great game. Not only does it show what the N64 could do (even though the Wii get the frame-rates and torch fires a little better) and it gave me that feeling inside. The one you get when you play an awesome game for the first time. Like the first time you got a head shot in Call of duty 4 and heard the "ting" of the poor guys helmet. Or when you get into an awesome car and crash doin' 230 MPH in GRID. This game really brought me back to the reason I love video games. Thanks Nintendo!

Majoras Mask made use of the extra expansion pack N64 delivered exclusively, though Ocarina is a bit lower on the graphics etc. I suggest you also play that one if you havent, in my opinion the best Zelda on N64.
That doesnt mean that Majoras Mask is bad in fact its also one of the best Zelda games ever made, have fun with your Wii ! !

Majoras Mask has awesome atmosphere and music, the town is so homely Termina field has more than Hyrule field, Ocarina has lots of dungeons and side stuff. i personally prefere MM

MM is better if you beat Ocarina first. Get Ocarina then love MM!
