Don't feel bad thats what a kid's life is supposed to be all about. Waste as much time as you possibly can before you have to be responsible for something.

Once, on the 64, back in the day, I screamed... lol, that was the only time I finished it though. I had the WW bonus disc but I only got to getting the three stones and growing up. The game has aged quite a bit, the memories will stay though.

I've lost count, I had the most fun on the 64 but like most around here I have it on the collectors disk + masters quest which I have beaten once as well. OOT and TP are the best zelda games I think, I find OOT really easy now but I have never bothered to get the 4th bottle. I like playing death tennis with ganon in the end, its fun.

its the same level as TP, maybe a bit harder just because the water temple is such a pain. My brother got stuck for weeks at one point because he missed one little thing and just couldn't figure it out.

Even though it's my favorite game of all time, I've only been able to complete it 4 or 5 times, the very first time through back on the original cartridge I had one of my friends from school complete most of the temples, (he even beat the game for me, so I have an idea of what the final battle would be like); and still as much as I love this game, I find it to be rather challenging and frustrating in certain areas.

So I'd say 4 or 5 times.

3 times, once in 1998-1999 (right after it came out)
replayed it again early 2001-2002
replayed it again last year 2006-2007

If I dont have a couple years between runs then the game is pretty tedious for me, especially the first two dungeons, jabu jabu isn't as bad for me, but after I get the master sword and start going into the temples I'm pretty much solid and will finish the game.

I also went through Majora's Mask fully for the first time this year too

I got no idea how many times I've beaten that game, but I have found all the skullturas 2 times and 1 time with all the heart pieces ..

And I have had enough of the game when I finally could play Z:OoT MQ .. so I'm still at the deku tree there ^^

I have it on the gc, and have started to play through it twice, but both times got put off because it doesn't run very smoothly.
I've played all the other zeldas, is it really worth me playing this one?

I never had it on 64 and I just recently got it on VC and I've beat it once. Right after I beat it I went out and bought Twilight Princess. It's good, the playability is amazing because of the controls, but I so far I think I liked Ocarina better. It seems like it made you think more than TP. Ocarina was a puzzle, TP just seems like it's laid out to walk you through it, but still a great game.

Ha don't be ashamed of that fact. First time through the Water Temple took me a week of tries before finally figuring it all out.

Yeah, water temple was a tough!

Haha I can't remember which temple it was, but I can see it in my head, it might be the Shadow or Spirit temple but I remember I was stuck in this one room, for honestly, like a week. I couldn't fgure out what to do, and it turned out I needed to like...move a block to the left or something. Hahah I even like, looked at the walkthrough too eventually and it wasn't clear. I remember being super annoyed when I found out what it was and how it was so obvious. lol. Gotta love those moments! hahaha

I'm currently mid way through Wind Waker for GC. I keep stopping for a few weeks and then going back. I think I might get back into it this weekend.

And one year later....

I'm on my third playthrough!

Wow, I never knew this game was THIS good. I think it might actually beat Wind waker, I never though I'd say it. But it's just such a good game. I'm only at Death Mountain so far, but I've still found sooo much to do, unlike the newer Zeldas. I've comminted myself to beat this game with only 3-5 hearts. I'm never going to take a Heart from beating a boss, the only time I will increase my max amount of hearts is when I do a puzzle and I'm forced to take a heart piece. I'm also going to try my hardest to find all of the Skull token things. Last time I played, I only had to free the final big Crused Skull guy, but I was never able to. I'm Also going to try and sell all of the masks. Last time I only got up to the second one, now I'm already on my forth!

It's just become a really addicting game, and I hope I'll be able to beat it the way I'm playing.

You don't need to ever pick up a heart container, Wink Waker was cool, except sailing really brought down the experience.

Well there's moments where you're playing a game and you win, and the prize is a heart container, which you can't not accept. I'm thinking the prize for getting all of the skull tokens is a heart too. But as for the Masks, I have a good feeling I wont win a heart.

You can just not do that stuff until you've beaten the game though.

Yes, but alot of the time put into that game is playing those little parts, not to mention I haven't played the game enough to know which places offer hearts and which don't. I'd rather play those little games getting the hearts unwillingly, than to skip out on them and feeling like I missed something.

I've beaten well over ten times. Of course it helps that I bought it the first day it was out ten years ago. One thing that always brings me back to the game is the amazing music. I've also spent countless hours in the fishing hole. This is easily my favourite Zelda.

I've beat it zero times. But then again, I only first got it last year, and it's far from my favourite Zelda game, so hey.

I can see how playing it for the first time now a days would give you a different impression. I personally find the hardest games to get into are from the PS1 and N64 generation, I don't really know why that is though.

Edit: After putting more thought into it, the reason it's much harder to get into PS1/N64 games is because controls, mainly camera control, have greatly improved since the time that these games came out.

It was a transitional period, not just in terms of graphics, but in simple terms of perspective as well. Changing from 2D to 3D brought a whole host of things that needed to be worked out, including controls, camera, and yes graphics as well. For what it's worth, I think Majora's Mask improves on Ocarina a bit.

If you ask me about Majora's Mask I'd it felt like for every step it took forward, it took two steps back.

I've never beaten Ocarina of Time, and yet I've started it about 6 times I'd like to say. The furthest I've ever gotten would have to be my original playthrough on my N64 copy, at the Water Temple, right before Shadow Link I believe. I am 99.9% sure that I have encountered a glitch and that is my reason for not being able to get passed the temple. Apparently this is possible by changing the water level at one specific time which makes it impossible to finish the temple. Right now I'm playing through the Gamecube version with cheats, just zooming through everything until I get to the Water Temple, and then taking my time after that.

I have beaten The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 1 time, or 2 times if it counts to start from the Ganon Castle 1 time.

And now i'm trying to beat the game one last time, but with all skulltulas and everything.

What he said, but the two steps back only applies to the length, and maybe story presentation.

Twice as I recall, both times on the original cart. Although I've seen the ending loads of times from a save.
The N64 was kind of the last console where I had limited money to spend on games. I'll still never understand those that try to do speed runs or make the game hard for themselves though. That's not what games like OOT are about to me. It's all about taking in the atmosphere or stopping to watch the sunset from Death Mountain. Each to his own I suppose.

I want to get around to completing the master quest next time I play OOT.

Well as far as i can remember about 3 times (twice on my N64 cart and once on Masters Quest). I still never get bored of this game. I would even go to say it's very high on my faverite games list.

Zero times. Downloaded it for VC back in '07, played up to some cemetary, and just lost interest.
