In some games, like the Super Star Wars trilogy, codes must be entered at the title screen when it first gets booted up. Since the VC is essentially perfect emulation the only way to do a hard reset is to open up the game and turn off the power of your Wii. When you start up your Wii and the game again you will then be able to enter in the cheats you want.

Since Lucas Arts released the three SNES Star Wars games on VC,
the chances are good to see the 4 Star Wars games from the N64

- Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
- Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
- Star Wars: Episode I Racer
- Star Wars: Battle For Naboo

being released eventually.

I get the feeling that emulation issues are what's holding up the majority of N64 releases. Did SotE use the Controller Pak?

Shadows of the Empire did not use the controller pak and it was published by Nintendo so I think it has a good chance to show up.

Yep, but of this list, I want only the First Rogue Squadron.
