Pokemon Snap (Is a good game..like a shotter on rails but non violence issues)

Not to say it's overrated, but I never understood why Paper Mario is so great. For me, there's nothing that makes me want to complete the game.

Humor, interesting locals, loads of Mario fanservice, and unique-for-its-time gameplay. If you love Mario, you'll want to finish it. If you love to laugh, you'll want to finish it. In fact, I found that there was a lot that made me see what was gonna happen next.

I did finish it because my little sister always watched me play and laugh with the Little goomba...that was enough to play for me.

And the game is funny and the timing actions give some good improvement in the mechanic.

I played it through for the first time last year and I LOVED it. I think some people just have certain connections to certain games maybe.

I'll probably give the game another chance, I blame Uncharted 2 for ruining my expirience (playing a game with an incredible amount of VA makes a game with virtually no VA kinda hard to appreciate...at least for me).

Well, it's really only for RPGs. I can enjoy games like Castlevania and SMB that have minimal amount of dialogue, but some of the older RPGs (although the SNES FF's and Chrono Triggers were definetely pretty easy to get into)...

I'd rather read dialogue than listen to some horrible Americanised voice acting. That way the characters can be and sound however I want them too.
Typical example is Grandia 2, it's supposed to be a great game but I wouldn't know as I couldn't stand the horrible American high school jock voice they gave the character so I never could invest any time in it.

It's not just RPG's either, I was overjoyed to discover "Lylat mode" in Starfox 64/Lylat Wars for similar reasons.

Personally, I'd rather indulge in hilariously bad voice acting than none at all. Even if I'm not invested in the characters, I can still have a good time insulting the voice actors.

Well, it was an early PS2 RPG. Nowadays, developers are putting more budget on VA. Also, there's always (well, if the game includes it anyways) the Japanese language setting.

Yeah, that can be nice, I enjoyed Panzer Dragoon Saga (only Japanese dialogue) and also played some of Lost Oddessey in another language so I didn't have American voices taking me out of the zone.

Incidently my Grandia 2 is the DC version.

Don' t be shocked but I think Conkers Bad Fur Day is a bit overrated. I just played it a week ago but it didnt give me the feeling what I got and still got with games such as Banjo Kazooie etc. Dont get me wrong its not a bad game, but not the best of Rare on N64. The thing is that it didnt feel very natural and complete such as BK and BT it had a bit of a twist to it because it wanted a bit of 2 sides which are: Being a collect a ton mini game and a laughable adventure platform. I played it a few hours and dont get me wrong I will finish it eventually, but it just hasnt got the feeling what for instance BK and DKC games gave.

Yeah. I hate this game.

For me, decline of RARE started from it...

Conker's great fools!
but for me it really shines in multiplayer with a few friends. War and beach are really fun with friends... as well as some of the other modes.
I loved bank heist too

I bet you will overthink most of this in a few more hours and the more you get into the game the better it gets. I agree the first few hours are somewhat clumsy but that's just the games way of tutorial that I thought was pretty hilarious and unique. (But not as hilarious and unique as it gets with every new quest) The open-world action/adventurey gameplay was a big plus for me - it's not a collectathon at all, as you only get money as a reward for beating quests. I wouldn't have liked another collectathon after BK, BT and DK64. Rare tried something different with their 4th N64 platformer. Something different in every regard. And even if BK and BT had some funny jokes, Conker's Bad Fur Day was the funniest game I have ever played. This blackest black of British trash humour is absolutely cracking. I know the addiction of getting every last banana or note in DK64 and BT/BK but Conker's not comparable with its focus on controversial quests and questionable humour. I was 17 years old when I got the game and it blew me away. Not just because it was not the next kiddy Rare platformer on the N64, not because it was just so f*ing crazy - it simply IS the N64 game with the best graphics, animations and voice acting. Imo it also has the best story, direction and presentation. It even has a great soundtrack and multiplayer mode.
Personally I found the flaws were very minor: It lacks in flow sometimes because you don't always know where to go - you have to explore the openworld to find a way to progress! Also the controls can sometimes be tricky as you often change "vehicles" and stuff, and then there's the camera which is sucky in a few places.

For me it's Rares N64 masterpiece. But I love Jet Force Gemini and Blast Corps too, which aren't exactly the games everyone else loves.
Don't understand me wrong, I really like all Rare games (I have completed them all), but I'm always a bigger fan of the cooler different games.

The humor in Conker just seems too vulgar and childish for me. Nothing that I've seen was very funny. Dunno if it's fun otherwise, though.

From what I've seen of Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, that game doesn't get the attention it deserves. It looks like a very fun and funny game. I really hope it comes to the VC someday. I'd rather not pay the premium eBay prices for it so long as I don't have to.

Of course I still have Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and Mystical Ninja 2 Starring Goemon (Goemon's Great Adventure in NA) in my N64 collection.
But I would love to have the JP version of Goemon 2 with all those cutscenes and music that was cut in the EU and NA version - because of storage space, damn cheap KONAMI!!

I really loved the songs and cutscenes in the first game. I'd pay 1200pts for a version of the JP N64 Goemon 2 that is edited in the same way as Sin&Punishment was. So basically the EU/NA version with just the cutscenes&music edited back, with subtitles.... or without subtitles .. I don't really care. Just bring back the stuff you edited out!

I hear Goemon 2 is a 2D platformer, so I'm not so sure I'd be interested in it, but if they do release it uneditted (de-editted?) I'd get it just to support more effort in VC games.

I am getting ready to duck behind the furniture as i say this...

Overrated :-Anything that is not Goldeneye,Perfect Dark,Turok 1/2,QuakeII and Mario World 64.

To me games that were made classic by the SNES were complete disappointments when remade on N64 with Mario World 64 being the only improvement so games like F-zero,Mariokart,Starfox/wing,Pilotwings,etc i prefered on SNES because they were simply either faster paced or more interesting,i stopped playing Zelda when it became 3rd person as i found it boring so to me Zelda: Ocarina OF Time the most overated game on the N64

Turok 2...seriously...that had to be one of the most overated titles the N64 ever got. Horrible jerky Hi-Res or tiny boxed in low-res...enourmous levels with save points that were miles apart. at least the original Turok was doing something new on a Nintendo console.

Terrible game.

you must have found F-Zero more interesting than its N64 equivilent then because there's surely no argument that it was faster paced. And there's no such game as Mario World 64

Agree with you on Starfox/Mario Kart, probably disagree on Pilotwings...as for OOT its cool to bash it around here it seems so you won't need to dodge behind any furniture there...although I personally disagree with you.

You've listed mostly famous games above though, maybe you should check out some of the N64's lesser known gems:

Space Station Silicon Valley
Rocket: Robot on Wheels
the Goemon games
Jet Force Gemini
The ISS games (if you like football)
The AKI wrestling games (if you like wrestling games)
Mischief Makers
