Do you think it will come out?

I guarantee you that Mega Man 4 will be released eventually.

There's no reason why it wouldn't. If Capcom is putting out five different versions of Street Fighter II on the VC I don't see what would stop them from putting out all the old Mega Man games.

There is no doubt in my mind. Did you see how quick they brought out Mega Man 3 after Mega Man 9 was released? I bet the games are downloading like crazy

Will it come? Yes. Do I want it to come? No. Why? Because It's my absolute least favorite Mega Man game on the NES.

Odds are Capcom will eventually get all the Megaman games up to 7 on the VC, then the X series as far as it went on the SNES, and then probably Megaman 64. I don't think any other Megaman games were released on pre-64 Nintendo systems.

tl;dr: Yes, and more.

Isn't the Genesis game like Mario All-Stars but with Mega Man?

Kind of.

It's Mega Man 1-3 with updated graphics and a save system instead of passwords. It only has the "difficult" difficulty of MM2. It removes some glitches, like the pause glitch in MM1. The main different thing is that there's an extra game mode called "Wily's Tower" or something like that after you've beat the other games, where you get to choose weapons for Mega Man.

You know its funny I think Mega Man 4 is technically a fine game, but I thought Capcom must have been running out of ideas for some of the bosses like Brightman and Dust man. Then Mega Man 5 came out and it just seemed cool again and not stale. But that's just my opinion, I know others who did not care for any Mega Man game after 3

I sure hope it gets released. I neglected this series back in the day and love being able to spend more time with them. I still need to download 3.....

And 9 for that matter....

Ah, good times!!!

It's about as likely to come out as another VC game coming out next week so yeah Mega Man 4 will come out. Dunno if I will get it myself I find the games a bit too easy except for the original Mega Man.

No you're right this and 3 had some pretty dumb bosses, although Skull and Pharoah Man rock.

Yeah, that's the main reason why it's my least favorite of the NES Mega Man games. But like you said, it is still afine game, and it's only my third least favorite in the entire series, with Mega Man 8 being the worst( stages were too long, bosses were lame, and you choose between 4 at a time), and Mega Man 9 being the second worst( cheap stage design).

Honestly, I really dislike the remakes of the first three Mega Man games that are present in the Wily Wars. All three games are awash in slowdown, which gets bad to the point of being unplayable in some instances, such as the fight with the Yellow Devil in the first game. Also, the damage balance in Mega Man 1 is completely messed up (attacks inflict more or less damage than they should; for example, Cut Man only takes one unit of damage from the Mega Buster instead of three) and the graphics, while technically superior, sometimes actually look worse than the NES originals.

Wily Tower totally makes up for it, though. Aside from featuring three entirely original Robot Masters (Buster Rod G., Mega Water S., and Hyper Storm H.), you have the ability to select any eight Master Weapons from Mega Man, Mega Man 2, and Mega Man 3, as well as two of the navigational items; the Magnet Beam, Items 1-3, and the Rush modules; to bring with you into the stages. There are some really cool concepts; Hyper Storm H. actually has two health gauges you have to deplete and there's an awesome boss fight towards the end that pits you against Buster Rod G. while the arena literally collapses around you. Wily Tower is still riddled by slowdown, but the overall design of the game is so strong that it manages to overcome that flaw. It's too bad that Wily Tower is saddled with those mediocre remakes because I'd love for it to see a rerelease in some form or other.

I stopped playing Mega Man after the third installment. 2 was highly addictive, then three was a little less so, so i stopped there...9 has me thinking about starting again

I hope so.

Unless of course I track down the Mega Man collection, then I couldn't care less.

But until then, I hope so. And I'm pretty sure it will, Capcom wants to ride the VC pony as long as possible.

Maybe on PSN. But certainly not on the VC.

Ya, that's what I figured.

I wasn't entirely positive, because MM8 did appear on the Anniversary Collection, so I'm sure it could possibly be emulated. But then again, It was only released on the Saturn and PS, so unless Saturn comes to VC, we won't see it.

Before Mega Man 4 gets released, you can try to beat Mega Man 1.

That's not an emulation, it's a port.

Think of it this way. Capcom releases them in order. The faster they get this game out of the way, the closer they are to releasing Mega Man 64 on VC.

Mega Man 9 doesn't have cheap stage design. It's easier than a lot of other Mega Man games.

Fool! Play Mega Man X!

I know this is kind of off topic, but since everyone is spouting Mega Man games to be released on VC, I decided to name another one that everyone has VERY strangly forgot;Mega Man And Bass. Yes, I know this has had a US release, but it was severly downgraded. For one thing, the small screen size limits view, which can get annoying with spikes and invisible floors. The soundtrack is very lacking compared to the SNES version, which is a dissapointment as Mega Man games have always been exceptional in the sound department. It also has sprite glitches, sound problems, and other little things like that which bog it down. So while it's a good game, it can;t compare to the greatness of the SNES one, which is why I want it on VC (likely choice for Capcom or not, considering they haven't released many imports, but as far as I know, they don't have many notable old school imports).

Everyone has been saying Wily Wars for the whole thread, why should I mention it?

Rockman Board looks kinda dumb IMO, but Mega Man Soccer looks interesting.

I really wish they would come out with at least Mega Man 4 and 5. Looks like it isn't going to happen though. Is there any actual word that they're bringing these to the vc? (more than just "I think they will.")

There's no actual word for most games that come to VC until very shortly before they come out. All we usually guess based on is precedent, and in the case of Mega Man 4, there's massive precedent (strong Capcom support on VC, several other games from the series already on VC, etc.). The only thing that would realistically make MM4 less likely is if VC games sell very poorly and Capcom and/or Nintendo want to move away from it as a distribution method (who knows?). I doubt MM4 would sell as well as the previous three games.

I played some of this with my friend yesterday, since we felt like some Mega Man and I hadn't played much 4 at all, so we played it, and I love it, more so than the first 3 even.
