Mega Man 8 came out for the PC, PSOne, and Sega Saturn. But you're right, it probably won't come to VC anytime soon, if at all.

An improved version came out on Saturn.

It's fine. Always happy to help. Truth is, I didn't even know there was a PSOne version until I checked not too long ago - I always thought it was PC/Sega Saturn only.

Allegedly Sony demanded it. Which is wierd since Sony USA didn't want 2D games or RPGs. The only reason Mega Man X4 got released on the US PSX was because Capcom threatened to uphold the RE sequel if Sony didn't allow it.

Geez, that's harsh. I never realized that Sony FORCED Capcom to release it. Personally, the PS1 version was the only one I knew about for years.

lolz, I made a horrible mistake. Capcom forced Sony to let them put Mega Man X4 otherwise they would not put RE2 on the PS2. Sony just really wanted Mega Man 8, I don't think they actually forced Capcom to do anything.

Yay Capcom!, X4 is all the awesomeness of the Zero series, without the uber difficulty.

What about the ZX series? And MMX5? Give them some appreciation...unless you didn't appreciate them, of course.

PS I personally liked the Zero series, but I hear the difficulty goes on a downhill curve after the first game, and I know that the 4th game has a VERY balanced (read- more n00bish) difficulty level, so they're not all that bad.

Actually, all of the Zero were very hard. Zero 1 was hard, Zero 2 was even harder, and Zero 3 was only slightly easier. Zero 4 is balanced, compared to the other 3, but it's still pretty difficult.

I always liked X1, X5, and ZX the most, simply because those ones had the most balanced difficulty, while still offering a lot to do.

Mega Man games are supposed to be hard. It's like the wimp's version of GnG.

I've only played X4, from the X series.

I haven't played ZX, although Advent hasn't been very good so far.

The Zero series is great, although I'm often not feeling up to working on the levels repeatedly until they can be run in one life (barring the final one, due to boss rush+final boss). X4 was easy enough to pick up and play without having to worry too much about survival.

i bet all the megaman games will be on thier even Megaman part 8,I know it was a playstation and sega saturn release,But i don't see why it cant be on the wii virtual console because megaman 8 was on the Mega Man Anniversary Collection which was released on gamecube and every other system, so why not?

i would like to see megaman soccer LOL!

Why not? Because the VC currently doesn't support Playstation or Sega Saturn games, and probably never will.

Actually, Sega Saturn games won't be include because Saturn games are incredibly difficult to emulate, and no Sega Saturn games have ever been official rereleased as a result. I'd like to think that they'll find a way to work around it someday, but so far it just doesn't seem like it'll ever happen.

The PC version was a rerelease, so you pretty much proved yourself wrong.

Sega Saturn- 1997

The PC version was a port. I meant that no Sega Saturn game has ever been rereleased with its original code intact, i.e. collections, Virtual Console, and I don't think Gametap even has Sega Saturn games. Since Virtual Console games generally just emulate the original rom of the game, chances are we'll never see it on VC, since the original roms of Sega Saturn games are hard to emulate(and that's not even considering the huge file space needed to store the roms themsleves).

Well now that I've beaten the first four Mega Man games this long weekend, I can say with complete confidence, that I much prefer 4 to the first three, and that I prefer 3 to 2, but that's another matter.

And if you've ever played X6, you're prefer all of those to X6.

I honestly can't think of a bad Mega Man Classic game, or any that I actually dislike...The one's that I've played, anyways.

I'd say 9, but it's more a wannabe, than an actual classic.

I didn't like everything that wasn't Tornado Man's level. Seriously, Tornado Man's was the only stage I liked. But I'll go back to it again after MM8, so my opinion my change a bit.

Anyways, I just beat 5 today, and preferred 4, so 4 will most likely end up being my favourite of the main series.

Yeah, even I have to admit, Mega Man 9 isn't that bad. It's still pretty cheap(in that most enemies will appear out of no where, or just appear in really annoying places), and some of the platforming sections are downright evil, but still, I'm actually starting to enjoy it.

I think the thing I hated most about it was that the game was very...tricky - cunning, even. There were so many parts I got stuck on that turned out to have very simple solutions that I feel kinda lame for getting stuck on them at all>_<; most enemies tend to react in unexpected ways, and turn up in unexpected places. That adds something of a learning period that makes the game more frustrating at times, especially when I get past a part I was stuck on for so long, only to die immediately after it. Still, once I got those tricky parts down, it was all in the bag.

I'm really glad I gave it a second chance, especially since I'm starting to like the all the fanservice and sadistic charm in each of the levels. As evil as fighting three elephants in a row is, it was still pretty awesome!=D

I still need to replay Mega Man 4 sometime. I don't remember ever liking that one, but I don't think the problem was the difficulty this time. I remember MM5 being a bit too easy, but I still liked it more than 4. I think 6 is still my favorite NES MM, after MM2. While I still need to replay it, I think Mega Man 7 may have been my favorite overall. Never was, nor will I ever be a fan of Mega Man 8 - those stages were way too long for their own good!>_<

And Contra ReBirth definitely does not have SNES graphics! It looks more like Wario Land: Shake it!, or what have you, and there seems to be a lot more going on than in the earlier Contra games. It does still play a lot like the old games, but it certainly has its own feel to it.

I'd Rather have Capcom make a megaman 10 then a megaman x9 because i think the original series was much better

I disagree with generalizing entire MM subseries, but that's for another time. Capcom has already made MM10...or should I say, MMX . Anywsys, I think MMX9 would be a better idea for a lot of reasons. If Capcom made MM10, I feel that it'd come off as a kinda lazy effort capatalizing on MM9s sucess (it would probably be good/great still, I'm just saying.) Also, I want another SNES style MMX game (although an 8 bit console MMX....). And finally, the story of MMX8 had a somewhat open conclusion. I'm personalky hoping the not quite so inevitable MMX9 to be either a prequel directly connectin the Classic series to the X series or a sequel zbout the Elf Wars, connecting the X series to the Zero series...Either way is totally awesome, although Capcom will probably go the lazy way and make it between X2 and X3.

PS About which Classic game is the best/favorite of mine, I will just say that they are all grest games (at least until Blue Bomber Festival).

PS2 Contra 4 much >>>>>> Contra Rebirth grafix wise.

Why? Because of the Super Adapter? Or the better charge shot?

VC could use more MM games...I'm hoping for Soccer, Wily Wars and & Bass myself.

No, the adaptors did make for some interesting new gameplay options, but they were also kind of annoying at parts where you'd frequently have to switch back and forth between them.

The level design was good for the most part and often great. The bosses were also usually quite fun too.

One of the big deciding factors though was that the boss rush stage in MM4 was highly bothersome, while in MM6 it was not.

Just replayed some of Mega Man 4 recently. It's better than I remember, but I can see why I hated it before - the Robot Masters are really lame, the music is annoying, and the stages have some of the stages are very annoying as well(like BrightMan's, for instance>_<). Still my least favorite so far, but I still need to replay MM3,5,7 and 8 first.
