Post Rumor: Super Smash Bros. arriving on VC with Brawl (Joystiq)

Filed under:

We, much like our friends at Nintendo Wii Fanboy, don't have a lot of substantiation for this rumor, but we thought we'd pass it along anyway: Nintendo Power has been speculating that Super Smash Bros. will arrive on the Wii's Virtual Console alongside Super Smash Bros. Brawl's March 9 release date. Similar timing was used for Metroid and Super Mario Bros. 3 with Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy respectively.

We understand those tie-ins, each of the new games are markedly different from their predecessors, but we have a hard time believing we'll be enjoying Brawl in March and wish that we could play a ****tier version. But hey, maybe that's just us.

I'll get it. I've only Played Melee and when I played that I stuck to Bowser all the time (Him and his mega cheap Fire attack)

So; It'd be fair to say I would be a newcomer to Smash. I'm not a newcomer to fighters though. I owned Tekken 3 and I used to play Street Fighter II all teh time on my ol' SNES.

I never had Smash Bros on N64 so I'm tempted, thing is though I've got Melee so I don't know how worthwhile it would be to get it.

If you have Melee, downgrading to the original isn't worth it.

I didn't cared that much for the N64 one compare to Melee. No thanks.

I personally loved the original Smash. I would download it just for the nostalgic factor of hearing the music and sound effects. I really hope I get to re-live old memories soon...

Although I have it, I will buy it. I would like to play my 3 Smash Bros in the same console.

I already pre ordered SSBB back in November when I picked up Galaxy so I doubt I would download the first game. Actually, I will most likely trade in Mele while it still has some value.

That's how I feel. Smash is one of those games that gets better each installment. The first game has less features than Melee and Brawl and it just doesn't seem like a game that could hold any type of nostalgia. Melee is much more fleshed out and visually impressive than the original and Brawl is going to so much better than that, so why do we need a bare bones version of Smash with crappy graphics?

Nintendo should have given us this in 2007. Only people who want old time feelings or don't have enough money for brawl will be getting this
