Post Adapter turns Classic Controller into GameCube controller

From the "ridiculous level of customization" department: a new device from EMS that removes one small deficiency in the Wii Classic Controller's capabilities: the ability to use it on GameCube games. EMS's Classic Linker allows users to plug a Classic Controller into the GameCube controller slot, allowing it to be used as a GameCube controller. As an added bonus, it also allows the use of PlayStation or PS2 controllers!

The Wii angle is nice, but where we see this being most useful is in an actual GameCube. The Classic Controller's button layout makes it superior even to the Hori Digital Pad for use in the Game Boy Player.

It had better have a longer cord than most controller adapters, because the Classic Controller's little cord doesn't exactly span a room. This accessory is available through Play-Asia for $16.90.

[Thanks, dreganfyre!]

Well the thing is that this makes the Classic Controller fully woired as the classic controller absolutely need no wireless at all unlike the Wii Remote witch it needs the wireless to prevent Wiis from going airborne .
But still i rather not trust this cheep aftermarket thing .

This looks pretty awesome! Especially useful with the GB Player;man, I need to get one of these. Oh, and you can use PS2 controllers ON A GAMECUBE! Why even get the PS2 version of RE4 (irony irony) ?

I would totally use this or a PS2 controller for the Game Boy Player. Pretty awesome. I'll keep this on my radar for now.

If this works well then Capcom vs SVC 2 EO might actually become playable!

This will also be very useful for those Gamecube compilations like Sonic Mega Collection.

This sounds really awesome. Sadly though after reading the bit where you need to have room for a small cord, it just killed the idea for me. Still cool though.

Not really, the issue is with the A/B/X/Y placement, which is the same across both pads.

Surely the issue is with the GC controller's tiny dpad and analogue L and R buttons. Something the Horipad fixes with a bigger Dpad and digital L and R buttons.

The 4 face buttons being slightly different shapes to a standard controller shouldn't make any difference...certainly never gave me any problems with the game.

(Looks in the book of Mudora)

I think he's saying that the reason the classic controller isn't wireless is that you don't need the freedom to swing it around. He then seems to be suggesting that the need to swing the Wiimote around is the reason Nintendo have made it wireless so as to prevent it flying out of your hands and dragging the Wii across the room with it.

I think he's probably wrong on both accounts as I'd say the classic would plug into the Wii not the Wiimote if his first point was to stand and the reason for the Wiimote being wireless is that that's the way all modern systems are; Nintendo was even pioneering it with the Wavebird last generation.
