Said Iwata, "Statistically speaking, it is true that there are a small number of customers who feel that the flash memory is too small, while many others find that they have plenty of memory. However, because this small number of people are none other than the most avid players, we know we have to review the best possible solution to eliminate their inconvenience."

All I have to say is it's about time! I would bet an announcement will be made at E3 this year.

Iwata'll just ban the hardcore gamers' Wiis and tell them to get a 360 or PS3 instead...make way for the Touch Generation!

Nintendo certainly has got to do something with WiiWare starting in May in the US and Europe. I guess we won't see a HDD, but at least a firmware update so we get to use SD cards directly.

Maybe a Hard Dwiive is one of the big E3 announcements for this year. It's not a new game that's going to make people happy this Christmas, it's storage space!

HDDs are so cheap nowadays that they could definitely give us an 80GB drive for under $100.

If they do announce a hard drive, I hope they let us use any old USB drive, as I have one that I'm not really using, and I'd hate to have to get an "official" one just for the Wii.

However, I suspect I'm hoping against hope, and only a Wii Drive will be compatible.

I'd buy a HDD. Anything beats near no room at all. Sd support wouldn't kill as another option so I fully support the motion.

Neither would I, but my bank account would prefer generic USB HD support.

Most likely we'll get a Nintendo HDD which is fine with me. Anything to get more channel space is welcome IMO.
