From IGN -
Iwata spoke at length on a number of issues, but one in particular caught our eye: the hot topic of the Wii's limited flash memory. Said Iwata, "Statistically speaking, it is true that there are a small number of customers who feel that the flash memory is too small, while many others find that they have plenty of memory. However, because this small number of people are none other than the most avid players, we know we have to review the best possible solution to eliminate their inconvenience." For the full article click here: http://wii.ign.com/articles/870/870937p1.html All I have to say is it's about time! I would bet an announcement will be made at E3 this year. |

Nah, just exaggerating a bit...hopefully. Nintendo certainly has got to do something with WiiWare starting in May in the US and Europe. I guess we won't see a HDD, but at least a firmware update so we get to use SD cards directly. |

Just give us the damn Harddrive already! Let the people who need it buy it and the people who don't need it stay clear. At least give us choice...

A small number? I swear, it's like they don't want us to download games.

Yes, a small number.
Maybe a Hard Dwiive is one of the big E3 announcements for this year. It's not a new game that's going to make people happy this Christmas, it's storage space! HDDs are so cheap nowadays that they could definitely give us an 80GB drive for under $100.

If they do announce a hard drive, I hope they let us use any old USB drive, as I have one that I'm not really using, and I'd hate to have to get an "official" one just for the Wii.
However, I suspect I'm hoping against hope, and only a Wii Drive will be compatible. |

I wouldn't mind a nice sleek Nintendo brand Wii-styled HDD.

I'd buy a HDD. Anything beats near no room at all. Sd support wouldn't kill as another option so I fully support the motion.

Most likely we'll get a Nintendo HDD which is fine with me. Anything to get more channel space is welcome IMO.
