The locking clasp looks pretty cool. Hopefully this will stop Wiimotes flying off wrists into LCD TVs all over the land!

I've never had a problem with throwing the controller at my TV. Both my friends and I however are expects and smashing them into nearby objects. From my experience the remote is nearly indestructible. A friend of mine smashed it (with huge force) into my cupboard and remote was fine but the cupboard had a huge dent in it!!

Frankly, I'm always astounded of hearing of the damages done by some people. What the hell are they doing: flailing the remotes around like madmen? I do wear the wrist-strap (most of the time), and I've yet to lose grip on the wiimote. The only time I use slightly exaggerated movement is when I play WiiSports boxing.

Sure. In a lot of games its one heck of a lot more fun to use exaggerated movements, but there's no need to go throwing the controller all over the place! Silly people.

I admit, I thrown it a bit wildly a couple of times with the new wiimote. I don't know if I would get this wiimote model since I already have 3.

would it not just be better to cover the side and bottom of the wii mote with the rubber stuff you get on rounders bats, cricket bats, tennis rackets ect. rather than that smooth, slick white plastic?
