Default More Games !

Nintendo should release N64 Games faster and they should add games that people have demanded. Such as,
Goldeneye 007,
Paper Mario 64,
Super Smash Bros 64,
Harvest Moon 64.

Instead they have just clouded us with NES and SNES games !

N64 games take up too much Wii space to be added in large numbers right now. And Goldeneye is out of the question unless they can get that whole license mess sorted out.

And Animal Crossing needs to be on that list.

Speaking of which, did the N64 version ever get released outside of Japan? Not to go off-topic, but I'm quite curious.

Nope, it stayed in Japan only as Animal Forest. I believe Animal Crossing for GC is exactly like JP's N64 version, except with slightly updated graphics and a few more items.

If they release Donkey Kong 64 then I promise not to complain about the slowness of VC releases for a whole month

Don't count on having room to keep any of your other VC games saved to the console when you download it though.

I'd dream too but then I'd end up getting carried away and missing my exam...

I'm dreading the day I have to start deleting my beloved VC games

That's why I'm glad we have SD cards if we never get an external HD. All we'd have to do is copy a game from the system memory to the SD card to make room to play games since one day I'll probably download enough games where all of them can't been seen of the screen and need to be moved to the SD card.

Really, why there are so many people desiring an HDD?
Doesn't the world struggle to subsitute HDD with solid state memories?

Currently the Wii only supports limited size SD cards (i think up to 2GB). This is something one could ask to optimize, but wanting an HDD instead of SD cards...that's wanting skateboards instead of trains.

HDD are fragile and expensive.
Solid state memories are small, robust, you can use them in a lot of devices and cost nothing.
And they are FAST! Reading from an SD card instead of reading from a mechanical device is far more an instant task.

We DO NOT need 160 GB of space for vc-games, so avoid this topic.

The problem is that you can't play the games off the SD cards.

And moving them isn't a superspeed procedure. I tried copying Mario Kart 64 (129 blocks) once, I had to sit and wait for considerably longer than the time it took to download in the first place. NES and TG games are probably pretty okay, but it still ruins that "easy availability" feeling I so love about VC.

EDIT: I just now now heard the speed differs between SD cards. Well, I guess I should get a better one then, I just used the one from my camera to try it out.

Yes, reading the first part of your message made me wonder WHERE did you put the card...

If you had an HDD, Nintendo should anyway release an update to support them. So they may work on support for direct-SD play = Time+money saving for EVERYONE.

If we may chose, we (and you) should prefer this last solution.

I don't remember where I read it but a 8 gigabyte harddrive is rumoured to be under development, a 8 gigabyte one shouldn't be that expensive. Having that for VC games would be really nice. I guess that demos could theoretically be released then.

And that's why I'll be keeping my N64 games on the system memory!

Well, I already have a usb hard drive, so if Nintendo add support, I'll be happy, as I won't have to spend any extra money.
